Job summary

Baker Hughes in Pune, India is seeking an FPGA Design Engineer to design, verify, and test FPGA modules as part of larger systems in our energy tech portfolio.

You will translate requirements into RTL implementations, run simulations, ensure timing closure, and collaborate with hardware, firmware, and software teams. A 3+ year background in FPGA design and Verilog is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering.
• Minimum 3 years engineering experience.
• Experience on Altera (Intel FPGA) and Xilinx (AMD FPGA) platforms.
• Proficient in Verilog.
• Exposure to front end RTL design flow: lint, CDC, STA.
• Experience with FPGA tools and high-speed digital design desirable.

Responsibilities

• Develop FPGA designs using System Verilog for Altera and Xilinx devices.
• Perform simulation, verification, and debugging of FPGA functionality.
• Ensure timing closure and optimize FPGA resource utilization.
• Support board-level integration, hardware validation, and product testing.
• Document design specifications, verification results, and development processes.

As an FPGA Design Engineer, you will be responsible for the design, verification and testing of the different FPGA based modules as a part of larger system. You will be using cutting-edge technology to build solutions for the energy sector.

• Contributing to architecture definition, RTL design, simulation, functional verification, timing closure, and hardware bring-up.
• Translating system requirements into efficient FPGA implementations, perform debugging and validation, and support product releases.
• Providing design and verification, release testing or beta support for complex software solutions that drive business value
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams to build relationships and create efficient, cost effective and scalable design solutions
• Working with internal and external stakeholders to translate requirements into project or product design documentation

Fuel your passion

To be successful in this role you will:

• Bachelor's or master's degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering
• Have proven engineering experience of minimum 3 years within an engineering environment
• Have experience on Altera (Intel FPGA) and Xilinx (AMD FPGA) platforms
• Demonstrate experience with FPGA based systems.
• Demonstrate good logic design concepts and computer design
• Be proficient in Verilog, and have had exposure to industry simulators
• Be able to build expertise in front end RTL design flow steps like lint, CDC, STA etc
• Excellent Code debug skills
• Lead and contribute within Agile/Scrum development frameworks, partnering with hardware, firmware, software, and systems teams to plan, develop, verify, and deliver FPGA solutions aligned with sprint objectives and product roadmaps.
• Experience with FPGA development tools, verification methodologies, and high-speed digital design is highly desirable.
