Job summary

Blue Machines seeks a Forward Deployed Engineer to design, build, deploy, and operate production voice AI agents end-to-end for enterprise clients in India. You will embed with client teams to integrate the platform with client systems and own agent performance in live environments.

You will lead workshops, optimize prompts and architectures, and travel for on-site reviews and deployments as needed.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of software development experience including ~2 years shipping live LLM/AI apps.
• Proficiency in Python or Java for backend.
• Hands-on cloud experience (GCP preferred) and strong API/WebSocket/auth knowledge.
• Strong client-facing communication and willingness to travel.

Responsibilities

• Design end-to-end AI agent architecture including prompts, flows, guardrails and tool-calling logic.
• Build scalable backend integrations (REST APIs, WebSockets, webhooks, CRM writes) between client systems and Blue Machines.
• Implement AI/LLM orchestration using LangChain and OpenAI APIs or similar SDKs.
• Monitor observability: read logs, traces, and call flows; perform root-cause analysis.
• Evaluate and optimize agents by tracking metrics and running funnel experiments on cadence.
• Provide client technical leadership: run workshops and travel for on-site reviews and deployments.

About the Role

Join Blue Machines as a Forward Deployed Engineer to design, build, deploy, and operate production-grade Voice AI agents for enterprise clients. You'll own end-to-end agent architecture, integrations with client systems, and ongoing optimization and debugging in live environments.

Role

As a Forward Deployed Engineer at Blue Machines, you will design, build, deploy, and operate production voice AI agents end-to-end for large enterprise customers in India. You will embed with client teams to integrate the Blue Machines platform with client systems, take technical ownership of agent performance, and run live optimizations.

Key Responsibilities

• Design end-to-end AI agent architecture, including prompt design, conversation flows, guardrails, and tool-calling logic.
• Build scalable backend integrations (REST APIs, WebSockets, webhooks, callbacks, CRM writes) between client systems and the Blue Machines platform.
• Implement AI/LLM orchestration using frameworks like LangChain and OpenAI APIs or similar SDKs.
• Monitor system observability: read logs, traces, and call flows; perform root-cause analysis to identify issues across prompts, platform layers, or data pipelines.
• Evaluate and optimize agents by tracking metrics (completion rate, hallucination rate, latency, cost) and running funnel experiments on conversation cadence.
• Provide client technical leadership: run workshops, manage expectations, and travel for on-site live-call reviews and deployments.

Requirements

• 3–5 years of software development experience, with at least ~2 years shipping live LLM/AI applications (agents, RAG, chatbots); voice experience is a plus.
• Proficiency in Python or Java for backend architecture and integrations.
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (preferably GCP) and deep knowledge of APIs, WebSockets, and auth protocols (OAuth2, JWT).
• Data fluency: able to pull and analyze data using SQL, Python, or Sheets.
• Strong client-facing communication skills and willingness to travel for on-site workshops and deployment reviews.

Nice to Have

• Knowledge of telephony stacks and real-time protocols (SIP, WebRTC, Twilio, Avaya, Ubona).
• Prior experience with Voice AI or conversational AI systems.
