Forward Deployed Engineer responsible for designing, building, deploying, and supporting production voice AI agents for enterprise telephony integrations. The role bridges backend engineering, AI/LLM orchestration, and client delivery to own agent performance end-to-end.

Role

Blue Machines builds production Voice AI for large Indian enterprises. As a Forward Deployed Engineer you will design, build, integrate, deploy, and support production-grade voice AI agents end-to-end, owning agent performance in client environments and bridging client systems with the Blue Machines platform.

Key Responsibilities

• Design end-to-end AI agent architecture including prompts, conversation design, guardrails, and tool-calling logic.
• Build scalable backend integrations (REST APIs, WebSockets, webhooks, callbacks, CRM writes) between enterprise systems and the Blue Machines platform.
• Implement AI/LLM orchestration and ecosystems using frameworks like LangChain and OpenAI APIs.
• Monitor system observability: read logs, traces, and call flows to perform root-cause analysis and identify whether issues stem from prompts, platform layers, or data pipelines.
• Continuously evaluate and optimize agent metrics (completion rate, hallucination rate, latency, cost) and run funnel experiments on conversation cadence.
• Lead client technical engagements: run technical workshops, manage expectations, embed with client teams, and travel for live-call reviews.

Requirements

• 3–6 years software development experience, with at least 2+ years shipping live LLM/AI applications (agents, RAG, chatbots); voice experience is a plus.
• Proficiency in Python or Java for backend architecture and integration work.
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (preferably GCP) and familiarity with APIs, WebSockets, and authentication protocols (OAuth2, JWT).
• Data fluency: able to pull and analyze data independently using SQL, Python, or Sheets.
• Strong client-facing communication skills and the ability to explain technical complexity clearly.
• Willingness to travel for on-site client workshops and deployment reviews.

Nice to Have

• Knowledge of telephony stacks and real-time protocols (SIP, WebRTC, Twilio, Avaya, Ubona).
• Prior experience with Voice AI or conversational AI systems.
