Job summary

Hawa Valves Pvt. Ltd. in Rabale, Navi Mumbai seeks a seasoned Forging Operations Leader to manage the complete forging shop setup, process development, die design coordination, production planning, and quality and HSE compliance.

You will lead a skilled team, drive productivity, coordinate with design and vendors, and implement continuous improvements across processes and equipment.

Qualifications

• Diploma or engineering degree in mechanical engineering is mandatory.
• 8–10 years of forging operations experience, preferably in valve industry.
• Experience in forge shop setup, process development, die development, production management and team leadership.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001/API standards and HSE-based quality management.

Responsibilities

• Lead the setup and development of forging shop operations.
• Coordinate die design development across materials and components.
• Oversee die manufacturing activities and vendor coordination.
• Drive sample forge trials and implement process improvements.
• Develop dies for accurate closed-die forgings and productivity gains.
• Ensure 100% compliance with quality systems and HSE requirements.
• Mentor forge shop personnel and coordinate workforce planning.
• Promote 5S and housekeeping for safe, efficient operations.

Job Location* Rabale, Navi Mumbai

*Job Purpose*

To lead and manage the complete Forging Operations, including forge shop setup, process development, die design coordination, production planning, quality assurance, safety compliance, manpower development, and achievement of production targets while ensuring operational excellence and adherence to HSE standards.

*Key Responsibilities*

*Strategic & Operational Management*

• Lead the setup and development of forging shop operations.
• Select suitable components/products for forging processes.
• Ensure smooth operation and optimum utilization of all forging equipment and Heat Treatment Facility.
• Achieve production targets as per organizational requirements.

*Process & Product Development*

• Coordinate with the Design Department for die design development in MOC like CS/SS/DSS/SDSS/NAB/Aluminium/Incone/825/625.
• Oversee die manufacturing activities and vendor coordination.
• Conduct sample forging trials and implement process improvements.
• Develop dies to achieve accurate closed-die forgings and improved productivity.
• Drive continuous improvements in forging processes, quality, and efficiency.

*Quality Management*

• Ensure final inspection and testing of machines before dispatch.
• Maintain compliance with company quality standards and applicable management systems and Customer Specifications.
• Support implementation and adherence to ISO 9001 API and Company QMS including HSE.

*Team Leadership & Training*

• Lead, mentor, and develop forge shop personnel.
• Provide technical and safety training to associates and subordinates.
• Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Coordinate workforce planning and performance management within the department.

*Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)*

• Ensure 100% compliance with HSE requirements.
• Promote safe work practices across forge shop operations.
• Report and investigate near misses, incidents, and accidents.
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping and 5S practices.

*Educational Qualification*

• Diploma in Mechanical Engineering (DME) or B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering.

*Experience*

• 8-10 years of experience in Forging Operations (Preferably Valve Industry or Valve Component).
• Experience in forge shop setup, process development, die development, production management, and team leadership preferred.
