Job summary

Alstom in India seeks a Fleet Support Engineer to manage fleet performance, troubleshoot, and drive reliability improvements across maintenance plans. You will analyze KPI performance, propose actionable improvements, and coordinate with Operations and Depot teams to enhance overall fleet availability.

Ideal candidates have extensive rolling stock experience, strong data analysis skills, and proficiency in MS Office.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years total experience in relevant maintenance/field, including at least 5 years in rolling stock troubleshooting and maintenance.
• Strong data analysis capabilities and troubleshooting expertise.
• Proficient in the use of MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Provides the technical support to the project for efficient troubleshooting, reliability and availability improvements.
• Proposes innovative solutions and implements service solutions in the maintenance project.
• Analyzes the technical performances of the systems and the efficiency of the maintenance plan and processes, promoting action plans to improve them.
• Searches for improvement actions in maintenance operations, performing engineering interface activities with Operations (depot support).
• Analyses failure criticality studies and uses methodologies to define and optimize maintenance requirements, tasks and intervals.
• Analyses and integrates data coming from Operations (Return on Experience).

Purpose of the job

Fleet Performance Engineer will manage / be part of the task’s execution within the project for fleet performance, troubleshooting, identify and implement the improvement opportunities for the reliability of the fleet, Ownership and ensuring the accomplishment of the different project KPIs and quality requirements established by the Board/contract and the maintenance plans.

Key accountabilities

Technical Support Function

• Provides the technical support to the project for effiecient troubleshooting, reliability and availability improvements.
• Proposes innovative solutions and implements Services solutions in the maintenance project.
• Analyses the technical performances of the systems and the efficiency of the maintenance plan and processes, promoting action plans to improve them.
• Searches for improvement actions in maintenance operations, performing engineering interface activities with Operations (depot support).
• Analyses failure criticality studies and uses RCM (Reliability Centered Maintenance) and other available methodologies to define and optimise the maintenance requirements, tasks and intervals.
• Analyses and integrates data coming from Operations (Return on Experience).

Data Analyst Function

• Support technically drivers and station located personnel.
• Support technically depot personnel in order to reduce repairing times.
• Logs, events and incidences analysis to define/coordinate corrective actions to take.
• Creation of different reports (contractual/technical. Etc.) in order to explain incidents.
• Creation of analytics reports using available tools (Tableau, ...).
• Support the improvement of the diagnosis tool (HealthHub).
• Cooperate in the in the organization of the corrective maintenance both in depot and the stations.
• Creation and management of the different fleet retrofits in order to improve the reliability.
• Cooperation in the implementation and development of new tools to monitor new subsystems and improve the effectiveness of the tasks done in the depot.
• Verify the correct execution of the maintenance plan, proposing improvements.
• Test different elect mechanical components.
• Update KPIs.
• Notify incidents that are likely to lead to Safety issues in the fleet.
• Quality, Environment, Safety and Health normative accomplishment.
• Manages and develops the Fleet Support team.
• Takes responsibility for QCD targets and deliverables of the project

Educational Requirements

Mandatory

• Engineering University- Diploma/Degree or B Tech (Elec Eng, Mech)

Desirable

• Railways technical knowledge on maintainability aspects.

Experience

• Minimum 8 Years of total experience in relevant maintenance/ field including at least 5 years of experience in Rolling stock trouble shooting and maintenance.

Desirable

• Experience in a railway maintenance contract
• Working knowledge of safety management systems and risk assessment and qaulity tools
