Job summary

Shree Vinay Engineering Services is seeking an experienced welder/fitter to join our maintenance team in Karnataka, India. The role involves hands-on welding, fabrication, and servicing of industrial equipment, pipelines, and supports at plant sites.

The ideal candidate holds ITI in Welder/Fitter and has 5–7 years of relevant experience, with a strong focus on safety and ability to work overtime or shifts as required. You will coordinate with supervisors to complete tasks on schedule.

Qualifications

• ITI in Welder/Fitter or relevant technical qualification preferred.
• 5 to 7 years of relevant experience in welding, fitting, fabrication, or industrial maintenance.
• Practical knowledge of welding machines, fabrication tools, and fitting activities.
• Ability to work at industrial plant sites and perform hands-on maintenance activities.
• Willingness to work overtime or shifts when required by site operations.
• Experience in industrial plants, engineering services, fabrication, or maintenance projects.

Responsibilities

• Perform welding using ARC/MMA, MIG, TIG as required.
• Fabricate, fit, cut, grind, drill and assemble metal components.
• Read engineering drawings and fabrication sketches.
• Install, align, repair and maintain industrial equipment and pipelines.
• Handle welding machines and workshop tools safely.
• Inspect welded joints and ensure quality.
• Assist in breakdown maintenance and site erections.
• Follow permits, PPE, hot-work procedures, and safety guidelines.
• Maintain tools and keep area clean.
• Coordinate with supervisors and maintenance staff to meet timelines.

Role & responsibilities

• Perform welding activities using ARC/MMA, MIG, TIG, or other welding processes as required.
• Carry out fabrication, fitting, cutting, grinding, drilling, and assembly of metal components.
• Read and understand basic engineering drawings, measurements, and fabrication sketches.
• Perform installation, alignment, repair, and maintenance of industrial equipment, structures, pipelines, supports, and brackets.
• Handle welding machines, gas-cutting equipment, grinders, drilling machines, and other workshop tools safely.
• Inspect welded joints and fabricated components to ensure proper fit, finish, and quality.
• Assist in breakdown maintenance, modification, and erection activities at plant sites.
• Follow work permits, PPE requirements, hot-work procedures, and all applicable safety guidelines.
• Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition and keep the work area clean.
• Coordinate with supervisors, engineers, and other maintenance personnel to complete work within the required timeline.

Preferred candidate profile
