Title: Firewall, Prisma - Networking Senior Specialist Advisor

Role Overview

The Network Security Specialist advisor will engage in daily maintenance and operations of the Firewall, Prisma. The role involves working primarily with Network Security products from vendors such as Palo Alto and FortiGate. The advisor will design, confirm, determine and/or troubleshoot traffic flows, security implementation and configurations, ensuring reliable network security infrastructure for multiple customers. Responsibilities include troubleshooting firewall and network traffic flows, maintaining accurate documentation of network and security products, support activities and processes, working independently and remotely when troubleshooting, and escalating issues when solutions are not readily apparent.

Responsibilities

• Work on Requests, Changes, Incidents, and Problem records to support our customers’ network security environment.

• Implement Network Security solutions and provide operational support in a customer environment.

• Apply CCIE R&S / Data centre expertise on Palo Alto URL filtering, vulnerability protection, AV, anti-spyware profiles, App-ID, and app filters.

• Troubleshoot issues with packet captures and debugs on Palo Alto and Fortinet firewalls.

• Provide technical escalation to L2 support engineers.

• Write custom queries on Palo Alto to fetch reporting data.

• Provide on-call support for high-severity incidents in a 24x7 environment.

• Ensure that Service Level Agreements and operational standards are met.

• Perform system maintenance, checkups and maintain current documentation.

• Provide resolution plans for device issues and propose service, process, and technical improvements to management.

Requirements

Hands-on experience with Palo Alto, Prisma, Fortinet. Ability to grasp complex issues to arrive at optimal solutions. Strong ethics and integrity. Flexible to changing customer, account, and team needs.

Excellent customer-facing communication skills and knowledge of ITIL best practices; ITIL certification is a plus.

Highly experienced architect with proven knowledge on products such as Firewalls (Palo Alto), F5, Prisma SASE, EIGRP, OSPF, BGP, and switching technologies.

Understanding of integration with authentication protocols such as LDAP, IWA, IWA-direct, SSO, Active Directory.

At least 12+ years of Network Security administration experience. 2 mid-level certifications in Network security from vendors such as Cisco or Palo Alto.

Strong troubleshooting skills around Palo Alto Firewalls; solid understanding of template/stack architecture; ability to manage daily steady-state operations in request and change management as well as weekly on-call rotation support; perform weekly/monthly health status checks; conduct rule-set reviews; detect security issues, create customer tickets and manage problems until closure.
