Job summary

Johnson Controls, Inc. in Bengaluru seeks an experienced Fire Alarm Systems engineer to design and deliver compliant fire alarm solutions. The role focuses on independent project execution, layout design, BOM preparation, and adherence to codes and standards.

Candidate should have a BE in Instrumentation/Electrical/Electronics and 4–10 years in the field, strong communication, and familiarity with AutoCAD and Simplex products. NICET preferred.

Qualifications

• BE with relevant disciplines and 4–10 years of experience in fire alarm systems.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Deep knowledge of Fire Alarm System design and NFPA 72.
• Knowledge of NFPA 72, IBC & relevant codes & standards.
• ACAD hands-on experience.
• Understanding tender documents & specifications.
• Independent hardware detail design, engineering and application development.
• Be a quick learner.

Responsibilities

• Independent execution of project lifecycle from concept to delivery.
• Design Fire Alarm System per local codes & standards.
• Review MEP drawings and identify Fire Alarm requirements.
• Prepare Fire alarm layouts and engineering BOM.
• Ensure QA and defect-free drawings delivery.
• Adhere to processes to meet timeline.

The primary responsibility for this role is to design the Fire Alarm System as per customer/account specific standards & building codes and NFPA 72 standards. Follow processes, maintain required quality standards and on time deliveries to ensure customer satisfaction.

How you will do it:

• lIndependent execution of project throughout the lifecycle
• lDesign the Fire Alarm System per local codes & standards
• lReview MEP drawings, Tender Specs etc. and identify Fire Alarm Requirements.
• lComplete input study with the help of input checklist and raise the RFIs.
• lPrepare Fire alarm Layout & engineering BOM
• lEnsure quality assurance and defect free Fire Alarms Drawings delivery.
• lAdherence with all processes and guidelines to execute project within timeline

What we look for:

Required

• lBE (Instrumentation / Electrical/ Electronics / Electronics & Communication)
• l4-10 Years’ experience in relevant field
• lProficient in written and verbal communication.
• lShould have strong domain knowledge of Fire Alarm System
• lShould be able to independently carry out Hardware Detail Design, Engineering and Application Development, Battery Calculations, Voltage drops calculations etc.
• lKnowledge on NFPA 72, IBC & Relevant codes & standards.
• lACAD hands on experience
• lSimplex product knowledge will be an advantage
• lUnderstanding the tender documents & specifications.
• lDesigning of Fire Alarm System IBC, NBC, NFPA 72 etc.
• lMust be a quick learner

Preferred:

• lNICET Level I & II Certified
• lSimplex Product Certified
• lProducts: Simplex, Notifier, Siemens, EST etc.
