Job summary

Johnson Controls in Bengaluru, India, is seeking an Application Engineer for Fire Alarm System design. You will independently execute projects across the lifecycle, design Fire Alarm Systems per local codes, and review drawings and specs to identify requirements.

The role involves input studies, RFIs, and producing layouts and BOMs. The ideal candidate holds a BE in Instrumentation/Electrical/Electronics, 4–10 years of relevant experience, and strong communication skills with knowledge of NFPA

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Solid knowledge of Fire Alarm Systems and NFPA standards.

Responsibilities

• Design Fire Alarm System per local codes & standards.
• Review MEP drawings and tender specs for Fire Alarm requirements.
• Prepare Fire Alarm layout and engineering BOM.
• Ensure QA and defect-free Fire Alarm drawings delivery.
• Adhere to processes to meet project timelines.

How you will do it:

• Independent execution of project throughout the lifecycle
• Design the Fire Alarm System per local codes & standards
• Review MEP drawings, Tender Specs etc. and identify Fire Alarm Requirements.
• Complete input study with the help of input checklist and raise the RFIs.
• Prepare Fire alarm Layout & engineering BOM
• Ensure quality assurance and defect free Fire Alarms Drawings delivery.
• Adherence with all processes and guidelines to execute project within timeline

What we look for:

• Required
• BE (Instrumentation / Electrical/ Electronics / Electronics & Communication)
• 4-10 Years’ experience in relevant field
• Proficient in written and verbal communication.
• Should have strong domain knowledge of Fire Alarm System
• Should be able to independently carry out Hardware Detail Design, Engineering and Application Development, Battery Calculations, Voltage drops calculations etc.
• Knowledge on NFPA 72, IBC & Relevant codes & standards.
• ACAD hands on experience
• Simplex product knowledge will be an advantage
• Understanding the tender documents & specifications.
• Designing of Fire Alarm System IBC, NBC, NFPA 72 etc.
• Must be a quick learner
• Preferred:
• NICET Level I & II Certified
• Simplex Product Certified
• Products: Simplex, Notifier, Siemens, EST etc.
