Job summary

Johnson Controls, Inc. is seeking an experienced Fire Alarm Engineer to design and implement Fire Alarm systems per IBC, NBC and NFPA 72 standards. You will review drawings, prepare layouts and BOMs, and ensure on-time delivery with QA compliance.

Ideal candidates hold a BE in relevant fields, have 4–10 years of experience, and possess strong communication skills. ACAD hands-on and Simplex knowledge are advantageous for this role.

Qualifications

• BE (Instrumentation / Electrical/ Electronics/ E&C) degree
• 4–10 years of relevant field experience
• Proficient in written and verbal communication
• Strong Fire Alarm System domain knowledge
• Independent hardware detail design, engineering and battery calculations
• Knowledge of NFPA 72, IBC & standards
• ACAD hands-on experience
• Understanding tender documents & specs
• Designing Fire Alarm System per IBC, NBC, NFPA72
• Fast learner

Responsibilities

• Design the Fire Alarm System per local codes & standards.
• Review MEP drawings, tender specs and identify Fire Alarm requirements.
• Prepare Fire alarm layout and engineering BOM.
• Ensure QA and defect-free Fire Alarm drawings delivery.
• Adhere to processes to execute projects on time.
• Execute project lifecycle independently.

The primary responsibility for this role is to design the Fire Alarm System as per customer/account specific standards & building codes and NFPA 72 standards. Follow processes, maintain required quality standards and on time deliveries to ensure customer satisfaction.

How you will do it:

• Independent execution of project throughout the lifecycle
• Design the Fire Alarm System per local codes & standards
• Review MEP drawings, Tender Specs etc. and identify Fire Alarm Requirements.
• Complete input study with the help of input checklist and raise the RFIs.
• Prepare Fire alarm Layout & engineering BOM
• Ensure quality assurance and defect free Fire Alarms Drawings delivery.
• Adherence with all processes and guidelines to execute project within timeline

What we look for:

Required

• BE (Instrumentation / Electrical/ Electronics / Electronics & Communication)
• 4-10 Years’ experience in relevant field
• Proficient in written and verbal communication.
• Should have strong domain knowledge of Fire Alarm System
• Should be able to independently carry out Hardware Detail Design, Engineering and Application Development, Battery Calculations, Voltage drops calculations etc.
• Knowledge on NFPA 72, IBC & Relevant codes & standards.
• ACAD hands on experience
• Simplex product knowledge will be an advantage
• Understanding the tender documents & specifications.
• Designing of Fire Alarm System IBC, NBC, NFPA 72 etc.
• Must be a quick learner

Preferred:

• NICET Level I & II Certified
• Simplex Product Certified
• Products: Simplex, Notifier, Siemens, EST etc.
