Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a Commissioning Engineer to join the Fire Alarm Systems team in Mumbai. You will render commissioning, configure graphics, and document FAS projects while ensuring QA of hardware and software.

You will guide site engineers and coordinate with clients, architects, and contractors to meet project timelines. Ideal candidates have 5–8 years of Fire Alarm commissioning experience, strong knowledge of NFPA 72 and relevant standards, and excellent communication skills to

• 5–8 years’ experience in Fire Alarm commissioning.
• Knowledge of NFPA 72, IBC and relevant codes & standards.
• Ability to deliver project deliverables within time-bound constraints.

Responsibilities

• Render commissioning for Fire Alarm Systems.

• Test equipment onsite and ensure QA on hardware/software packages.

What you will do

In this role, you will be part of the Commissioning Engineer Team for Fire Alarm Systems.

How you will do it

• Render commissioning for Fire Alarm Systems
• Have strong domain knowledge of Fire Alarm (Simplex, Edwards, Notifier, etc.)
• Perform FAS commissioning and programming for Simplex panels; certification is an added advantage
• Configure FAS graphics implementation and documentation
• Ensure quality assurance and defect‑free hardware and software package delivery
• Adhere to all processes and guidelines to execute projects within the established timeline
• Test equipment onsite
• Demonstrate adherence to operational process requirements to drive efficiency
• Maintain assigned KPIs and own their achievement
• Achieve customer satisfaction by completing work on time
• Maintain relationships with key influencers and decision‑makers in customer organizations to obtain certifications on completed work
• Coordinate with other vendors for interfaces
• Coordinate with architects, clients and contractors at various stages of the project
• Manage a team of site engineers and technicians to resolve customer queries and onsite issues

What we look for

• ME/BE/Diploma in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, or Electronics & Telecommunication
• 5–8 years’ experience in Fire Alarm commissioning
• Knowledge of NFPA 72, IBC and relevant codes & standards; other system design and commissioning experience is an advantage
• Ability to deliver project deliverables within time‑bound constraints
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail
• Professional, results‑oriented individual with high self‑motivation
• Strong communication and presentation skills
