Responsibilities

• Guide patients and families regarding the estimated costs of hospitalization and available payment options.
• Explain details of billing, break-up of charges, and hospital payment policies.
• Verify and validate insurance coverage and coordinate with insurance companies for pre-authorizations and documentation.
• Collect advance deposits, pending payments, and counsel on financial requirements for admission, discharge, and during treatment.
• Assist patients with queries on billing and charges at various stages of treatment; address grievances related to payments.
• Facilitate and process charity assistance, government aid, or medical loans where applicable.
• Ensure necessary documentation for financial transactions is accurate and complete in patient records.
• Report financial clearance and status to hospital administration for continuity of care and strategic planning.
• Maintain compliance with hospital policies and healthcare regulations regarding patient financial counselling.
