Job summary

Talent Corner HR Services seeks a hands-on Finance Controller to manage day-to-day financial operations across export and import verticals in the perishables sector. The role demands solid expertise in international trade finance, statutory compliance, and cost control, with the ability to own the finance function.

You will drive cash flow, budgeting, MIS reporting, and audits while strengthening internal controls and leading the finance team through growth.

Qualifications

• CA / CMA / M.Com / MBA (Finance) or equivalent qualification.
• 5-7 years of overall finance experience, ideally including exposure to an export/import or trading business.
• Good working knowledge of GST, customs regulations, export-import documentation, forex handling, and export finance instruments.
• Hands-on experience with ERP/accounting systems (Tally, SAP, or similar) and MS Excel.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• High attention to detail with the ability to work under deadlines in a fast-paced, perishable-goods trading environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage pre-shipment/post-shipment finance, buyer's credit, and export bill discounting, and mitigate forex risk through hedging strategies.
• Handle letters of credit and banking relationships tied to cross-border shipments.
• Maximize utilization of export incentive schemes (RoDTEP, EPCG, Advance License) and ensure GST, customs, and other statutory compliance for international trade.
• Control DSO via timely realization of export proceeds, and manage buyer/distributor credit risk through ECGC cover and LC-backed transactions.
• Own financial planning, budgeting, and cash flow across the company's export and import business verticals.
• Prepare MIS reports, P&L statements, and balance sheets for management, and coordinate statutory, internal, and customs audits.
• Maintain and strengthen internal financial controls and processes.
• Supervise the finance/accounts team and support management with financial analysis as the business grows.

Role Summary

We are looking for a hands-on Finance Controller to manage the day-to-day financial operations of our client, overseeing both the export (meat, poultry, seafood) and import (fruits) sides of the business. The ideal candidate will bring solid working knowledge of international trade finance, statutory compliance, and cost control within the perishable goods and cold-chain sector, along with the ability to independently own the finance function.

Key Responsibilities

Export Finance & Forex

• Manage pre-shipment/post-shipment finance, buyer's credit, and export bill discounting, and mitigate forex risk through appropriate hedging strategies.
• Handle letters of credit and banking relationships tied to cross-border shipments.

Export Incentives & Compliance

• Maximize utilization of export incentive schemes (RoDTEP, EPCG, Advance License) and ensure GST, customs, and other statutory compliance for international trade.

Working Capital & Risk Management

• Control DSO (Days Sales Outstanding) via timely realization of export proceeds, and manage buyer/distributor credit risk through ECGC cover and LC-backed transactions.
• Own financial planning, budgeting, and cash flow across the company's export and import business verticals.

Cost, Reporting & Controls

• Manage cost accounting and inventory valuation for cold-chain and perishable stock to control landed costs, wastage, and margins.
• Prepare MIS reports, P& L statements, and balance sheets for management, and coordinate statutory, internal, and customs audits.
• Maintain and strengthen internal financial controls and processes.
• Supervise the finance/accounts team and support management with financial analysis as the business grows.

Requirements

• CA / CMA / M.Com / MBA (Finance) or equivalent qualification.

• Good working knowledge of GST, customs regulations, export-import documentation, forex handling, and export finance instruments (pre/post-shipment finance, buyer's credit, bill discounting, LC, ECGC).
