Ltd. is engaged in the procurement and trading of agricultural and allied commodities, serving corporate buyers, millers and processors through a pan-India supplier and procurement network. The business operates across a wide range of commodities and follows a trade-led, working-capital-intensive model.

About the Role:

We are looking for an experienced Finance Controller to lead the Finance & Accounts function and provide strong financial governance across the business. The role will be responsible for financial controllership, management reporting, trade accounting, working capital, treasury, taxation, audits and internal controls, while partnering closely with the business and senior management. The ideal candidate should understand the financial dynamics of a trading business, including inventory, receivables, payables, trade finance, commodity transactions, margins and working-capital cycles.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Financial Controllership:

• Own the overall Finance & Accounts function and ensure accurate and timely accounting and reporting.
• Lead monthly, quarterly and annual financial closing activities.
• Ensure accounting hygiene, balance-sheet reconciliations and robust financial controls.
• Review financial statements and ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and company policies.
• Strengthen finance processes, controls and SOPs across the organization.

2. Trade & Commodity Finance:

• Oversee accounting and financial controls for procurement, sales, inventory and trade transactions.
• Monitor trade margins, transaction profitability and commodity-wise financial performance.
• Ensure accurate accounting of freight, logistics, duties, commissions, procurement costs and other trade-related expenses.
• Review trade exposures and ensure appropriate financial controls around the company’s procurement and sales cycle.

3. Working Capital & Treasury:

• Drive working-capital management across inventory, receivables and payables.
• Monitor cash flows, fund requirements, banking limits and utilization.
• Manage relationships with banks and financial institutions.
• Oversee trade finance instruments including LCs, BGs, working-capital facilities and other banking arrangements.
• Monitor interest costs, borrowing costs and overall financing efficiency.

4. MIS & Business Reporting:

• Prepare and review monthly MIS, management dashboards and financial performance reports.
• Provide insights on revenue, gross margins, EBITDA, working capital, cash flows, inventory, receivables and trade profitability.
• Develop business and financial analysis to support management decision-making.
• Work closely with business teams to identify financial risks, cost optimization opportunities and profitability drivers.

5. Taxation, Audit & Compliance:

• Oversee GST, TDS and other applicable statutory compliances.
• Coordinate with statutory, internal and tax auditors.
• Ensure timely closure of audit observations and implementation of corrective actions.
• Ensure appropriate documentation and compliance across trade and financial transactions.

6. Team & Stakeholder Management:

• Lead and mentor the Finance & Accounts team.
• Partner closely with Procurement, Sales, Operations, Treasury and senior management.
• Work with external consultants, auditors, banks and other financial stakeholders.
• Establish strong financial discipline across business functions.

What We’re Looking For:

• MBA Finance / CA qualification.
• 8-10 years of relevant experience in Finance & Accounts, Controllership or Commercial Finance.
• Strong experience in trading, commodity trading, FMCG, agri-business, manufacturing or import-export environments.
• Proven experience managing working capital and finance operations in a transaction-intensive business.
• Strong understanding of trade accounting, inventory accounting, receivables and payables.
• Hands-on exposure to trade finance, banking and treasury operations.
• Strong knowledge of GST, TDS, statutory compliance and audit processes.
• Excellent command of MS Excel and ERP systems.
• Strong analytical, commercial and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work closely with senior management and provide actionable financial insights.
