Job summary

AQUBT is seeking a hands-on Financial Controller to lead accounting, reporting, and compliance for a growing tech company. You will own cash flow, controls, and automation, and build scalable processes to support rapid growth.

In this role you will manage end-to-end finance, oversee audits, and partner with leadership on budgeting and strategic planning, including payroll coordination and international operations.

Qualifications

• Chartered Accountant with hands-on ownership of a full finance function.
• Minimum 6 years of progressive accounting/finance experience.
• Strong knowledge of statutory compliance and financial reporting.
• Experience managing a complete finance function in a dynamic environment.
• Proficiency in Zoho Books, Tally, QuickBooks or similar.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end accounting, GL, and month-/year-end closing.
• Prepare P&L, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
• Oversee GST, TDS, corporate tax, and audits across India/UAE.
• Manage AP/AR, banking relationships, and cash flow.
• Establish controls, procurement workflows, and approvals.
• Support budgeting, forecasting and decision-making.
• Coordinate payroll with EOR providers.
• Implement automated reporting and scalable processes.

Job description

We are looking for a hands‑on Financial Controller to lead and build the finance function for a growing technology company. This is an opportunity for an experienced finance professional to take ownership of accounting, financial reporting, statutory compliance, cash flow management, and financial planning while establishing scalable processes for future growth.

The ideal candidate will be comfortable working independently in a fast‑paced environment, managing international finance operations, and introducing automation to improve financial efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage end‑to‑end accounting, general ledger, bookkeeping, and month‑end and year‑end closing.
• Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including P&L, balance sheets, and cash flow reports.
• Oversee statutory compliance, including GST, TDS, corporate tax, VAT, audits, and regulatory filings across India and the UAE.
• Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, banking relationships, and cash flow.
• Establish financial controls, procurement processes, and approval workflows.
• Support budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, and business decision‑making.
• Coordinate payroll processing with Employer of Record (EOR) providers.
• Implement and optimize accounting systems, reporting processes, and financial automation.
• Build scalable finance processes and support the development of a finance team as the business grows.

Required Qualifications:

• Chartered Accountant (CA) or an equivalent recognized professional accounting qualification.
• Minimum 6 years of progressive experience in accounting and finance, with hands‑on Financial Controller or equivalent ownership.
• Strong knowledge of statutory compliance and financial reporting in India and/or the UAE.
• Experience independently managing a complete finance function in a dynamic business environment.
• Proficiency in accounting software such as Zoho Books, Tally, QuickBooks, or similar platforms.
• Strong analytical, organizational, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work autonomously, manage multiple priorities, and establish effective financial processes.
• Interest in using AI and automation tools to improve finance operations.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in hospitality, technology, SaaS, or a startup environment.
• Exposure to international finance operations and multi‑currency accounting.
• Experience implementing financial systems, controls, and process improvements.
• Familiarity with financial data integration and analytics platforms.
