Responsibilities

• Month-end close, reporting, and audits across entities.

Job description

The candidate will have responsibilities across the following functions:

Month-end close, reporting, and Audits:

• Run a fixed close calendar for every entity: standalone books, intercompany eliminations, consolidated MIS.
• Own Board and investor reporting: Board packs, monthly investor MIS, quarterly updates and SaaS metrics (ARR, NRR, burn, runway), on time and right first time.
• Meet every investor information right under the shareholders' agreement.
• Run statutory audits across every entity and close them on schedule with clean opinions.

Internal controls:

• Design a control framework that scales with Keka: delegation of authority, maker-checker, segregation of duties.
• Meet IFC requirements and close every audit observation on time.
• Every new entity goes live with controls on day one.

Global finance structure:

• Transfer pricing strategy: design how IP, revenue and costs flow between India, the US, MENA and the Philippines, with intercompany models that are tax-efficient and audit-proof.
• PE evaluation: assess permanent-establishment exposure as sales and delivery teams work across borders, and structure to stay ahead of it.
• New entities: incorporate and operationalise new subsidiaries end-to-end: setup, banking, tax registrations, intercompany agreements and controls.

Global taxation:

• Own Keka's global tax position: India direct and indirect tax, US federal and state, UAE and KSA corporate tax and VAT, Philippines.
• Optimise the effective tax rate: treaty benefits, foreign tax credit recovery on cross-border withholding, and incentive regimes in new markets.
• Defend and comply: lead assessments and litigation with advisors; zero missed filings across entities.

Payroll:

• Own payroll accuracy and payroll accounting for every country: India in-house, US, MENA and Philippines.
• Statutory compliances.

Accounts payable and receivable:

• Turn revenue into cash: own DSO, collections and bad-debt exposure in every market.
• Pay right, pay on time: a payables engine with zero errors and zero slippage on TDS/WHT and MSME payment timelines.
• Control FX: multi-currency books (INR, AED, SAR, USD, PHP) with exposure tracked and revalued monthly.

Cash and treasury:

• 13-week cash forecast across all entities and currencies.
• Banking relationships in every country; subsidiaries funded on time and FEMA/ODI compliant.
• Surplus cash and FX managed within board-approved policy.

Finance strategy with the CFO:

• Work directly with the CFO on AOP, pricing of new business lines and market-entry economics.
• Keep finance diligence-ready at all times for fundraises, audits and acquirers.

Automation and AI:

• Build an AI-first finance function: automate close, reconciliations, AP and collections so finance scales without headcount growing in step with revenue.
• Put AI to work on analysis, variance commentary, invoice and contract review, and reporting.
• Own the finance-systems roadmap: ERP, spend management, multi-entity reporting.

Team:

• Lead and grow the finance team in Hyderabad; set the bar on accuracy and turnaround.
• Hire or appoint country finance owners and manage outsourced accounting firms in overseas entities.

Requirements:

• Chartered Accountant with 10+ years post-qualification; at least 3 years of them as Financial Controller or Head of Accounts.
• Has worked in fast-paced, unstructured, high-growth companies. We blitzscale.
• Hands-on with consolidation, intercompany and transfer pricing, not only through advisors.
• Working knowledge of Indian direct and indirect tax; working command of cross-border WHT, foreign tax credit and PE.
• Has built controls from scratch (DoA, risk-control matrix, IFC) and cleared audits without material findings.
• Heavy AI user who enjoys building automations; we use NetSuite.
• B2B SaaS or subscription-revenue experience.
