Job summary

Rhia AI is seeking a seasoned Finance Controller to own financial operations across UAE and India. You will manage the general ledger, month-end close, and deliver timely P&L, balance sheets, and cash flow reports for founders and the board.

The role enforces tax compliance (GST/VAT, TDS), audits, ROC filings, and oversees accounts payable/receivable and payroll coordination with our EOR. CA qualification with 6+ years’ experience is required in a fast‑growth tech environment.

Qualifications

• CA or an equivalent international certification.
• 6+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience with controller-level ownership.
• Strong knowledge of UAE and/or India statutory compliance and financial reporting.
• Ability to operate as a one-person finance department with potential to lead a team.
• Experience with Zoho Books, Tally, QuickBooks or similar software.
• Interest in AI and automation to improve finance workflows.
• Excellent organizational and analytical skills; comfortable in a fast-growth startup.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the general ledger and execute month-end and year-end close processes.

Responsibilities:

You will be the cornerstone of our financial operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and strategic insight. Your core areas of ownership will include:

• Maintaining the general ledger, managing bookkeeping activities, and executing a seamless month‑end and year‑end close process.
• Preparing timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual reports including P&L statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements for founders and the board.
• Ensuring full compliance across the UAE and, as we expand, in India. This encompasses corporate tax, GST/VAT, TDS, annual audits, and ROC filings.
• Overseeing accounts payable and receivable, banking relationships, and proactive cash flow management.
• Establishing, documenting, and managing efficient procurement and financial approval workflows.
• Supporting budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning to guide business decisions.
• Coordinating with our Employer of Record (EOR) providers to ensure accurate and compliant payroll processing.

Requirements:

• A professional qualification such as Chartered Accountant (CA) or an equivalent international certification.
• 6+ years of progressive experience in accounting and finance, with proven, hands‑on controller‑level ownership in a dynamic environment.
• Strong, practical knowledge of statutory compliance and financial reporting requirements in the UAE and/or India.
• Proven ability to serve as a one‑person finance department with the vision to build and lead a team in the future.
• High proficiency with modern accounting software (e.g., Zoho Books, Tally, QuickBooks, or similar platforms).
• A curious and innovative mindset, with a genuine interest in leveraging AI and automation tools to improve finance workflows.
• Exceptional organizational skills, sharp analytical abilities, and comfort operating autonomously in the ambiguity of an early‑stage, high‑growth company.

Nice to Have :

• Prior experience in the technology/SaaS or hospitality sectors.
• Exposure to international finance operations and multi‑currency accounting.
• Experience with financial data integration or analytics platforms.
