L.E.K. Consulting in Gurgaon is seeking a Financial Accountant to join our Finance team. The role will support day-to-day accounting activities while ensuring timely statutory, regulatory, tax, payroll, and financial reporting across relevant markets.

This broad finance position offers exposure to month-end close, taxation, payroll, audits, reconciliations, financial statements, and cross-functional stakeholder management.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of accounting experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Commerce/Accounting.
• Proficient with MS Excel and ERP systems.
• Experience in a professional services environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare indirect tax returns across applicable jurisdictions.
• Assist with direct taxes, withholding taxes, filings, and renewals.
• Support end-to-end payroll processing and local payroll compliance.
• Assist with corporate income tax calculations and filings.
• Support statutory and regulatory reporting across markets.
• Assist with corporate filings with local authorities.
• Support month-end accounting: payroll & accrual postings, intercompany reconciliations, balance sheet & P&L finalisation, cash flow analysis.
• Prepare year-end audit reconciliations and supporting documentation.
• Support audits (tax, indirect tax, transfer pricing) as applicable.
• Liaise with internal teams on finance-related matters.

About The Role

We are looking for a Financial Accountant to join our Finance team in Gurgaon.

The role will support day-to-day accounting activities while helping ensure the timely completion of statutory, regulatory, tax, payroll, and financial reporting requirements across relevant markets.

This is a broad finance role offering exposure to month-end accounting, taxation, payroll, statutory compliance, audits, reconciliations, financial statements, and cross-functional stakeholder management.

Key Responsibilities

As a Financial Accountant, You Will

• Support the preparation and filing of indirect tax returns, including VAT/sales tax, across applicable jurisdictions.
• Assist with direct tax, withholding tax, statutory filings, and regulatory renewals.
• Support end-to-end payroll processing and applicable local payroll and employment compliance requirements.
• Assist with annual corporate income tax calculations and tax return filings.
• Support statutory and regulatory reporting requirements across relevant markets.
• Assist with corporate documentation and filings with local authorities.
• Support month-end accounting activities, including:
  • Payroll journal postings
  • Accrual journal postings
  • Preparation and raising of cost recharges
  • Intercompany reconciliations
  • Finalisation of Balance Sheet and Profit & Loss statements
  • Preparation and analysis of cash flow projections
• Prepare reconciliations and supporting documentation for year-end audits.
• Support statutory, tax, indirect tax, and transfer pricing audits, as applicable.
• Liaise with internal teams and other departments on finance-related matters.

What We’re Looking For

• 3–5 years of experience in accounting, finance, or a related discipline.
• Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• A part-qualified professional accounting qualification would be an advantage.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, practices, and procedures.
• Good understanding of statutory and accounting requirements across different markets.
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
• Prior experience working with an ERP system.
• Experience within a professional services environment is preferred, but not mandatory.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Good communication and stakeholder-management skills.
