Job summary

Capco in Chennai seeks a Manager - Finance Operations responsible for preparing and reviewing IFRS-based financial statements, coordinating month-end closes, and liaising with external auditors.

You will lead an in-country team, drive process improvements, and ensure timely reporting across monthly, quarterly, and annual cycles while maintaining accuracy and compliance.

Responsibilities

Manager - Finance Operations

Location: Chennai

Key Responsibilities

• Preparation/Review of monthly, quarterly and annual B/S, P/L schedules and consolidated final accounts as per IFRS
• Analytical skills to perform variance analysis and detailed review.
• Produce and analyze ad hoc management information requests.
• Preparation and review of various pre and post close journals.
• Strong technical knowledge of accounting and reporting principles.
• Functional experience in accounting for all balance sheet / income statement heads.
• Collaborate extensively with the external auditors during preliminary and year-end audit procedures.
• Ability to meet KPI timelines including under stringent timelines and high-pressure situations, at the same time maintaining a high degree of accuracy.
• Good communication skills to be able to manage the In-country team on a daily basis.
• Identify opportunities for process re-engineering / improvement and participate in change initiatives.
• Pro-active approach in highlighting issues for timely resolution
• Ensure participation in various learning initiatives to constantly upgrade future-fit skill set.

Business and Customer/ Stakeholder

• Drive performance to agreed service levels and manage In-Country teams expectations in a timely and professional manner.
• Establish and maintain effective relationship with business areas and identify areas of service improvements by implementing regular calls and feedback mechanism.
• Operational capability must be maintained all year round given the frequency of reporting periods (monthly plus additional requirements quarterly, half-yearly and annually).
• Manage / Support In-Country relationship effectively.

Risk and Controls

• Responsible for maintaining documentation as per RCA and SOX requirement.
• Ensure SOPs are relevant and updated.
• Adherence to Group policies, IFRS reporting requirements, audit, controls and compliance requirements.
• Ensure testing of processes per Business Continuity plan

Functional Knowledge

• Prior experience in Financial accounting and Reporting and strong knowledge IFRS
• Good working knowledge of month end closure preferably in the Banking Sector
• Meticulous and impeccable attention to detail
• Good communication skills for ensuring smooth day to day interaction with In-Country teams.
• Very strong Excel skills to interpret high data volume and facilitate automation.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently, coordinate the efforts of others and work well with people at a wide range of levels.
• Understanding of Global markets, products, securities etc.

Others

• Excellent communication skills, including experience of explaining complex technical matters simply.
• Good knowledge of Analytical tools, MS Access Database, Xceptor , Power BI will have an added advantage
• Experience of working with colleagues and stakeholders cross-border in a multinational organization
• Previous tenured employment with a Financial Institution will be an advantage.
