Job summary

Symbiosis University of Applied Sciences is seeking a Finance Officer with strong expertise in core accounting, financial reporting, GST and TDS. You will lead day-to-day accounting operations, supervise the accounts team, and coordinate finance activities across campuses.

The role requires postgraduate qualification (M.Com / MBA Finance) and at least 5 years’ experience, with SAP and advanced Excel skills.

• Postgraduate qualification (M.Com / MBA Finance) mandatory.
• 5+ years in core accounting and finance.
• Experience with General Ledger, journal entries, invoice processing, AP, AR, bank reconciliations.
• Experience leading a finance/accounts team.
• Experience across multiple locations/campuses is preferred.
• Experience in University/Higher Education finance advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day accounting operations with accuracy and compliance.
• Supervise and mentor the finance/accounts team, allocate work, and ensure timely completion of deliverables.
• Coordinate finance activities across campuses/locations and collaborate with internal stakeholders.
• Manage end-to-end General Ledger (GL) accounting, bookkeeping, and ledger scrutiny.
• Handle journal entries, invoice processing, AP, AR, and account finalization.
• Perform bank reconciliations, customer/vendor reconciliations, and month-end/year-end closing activities.
• Prepare financial statements, MIS reports, budgets, and support cash flow planning.
• Ensure GST, TDS, statutory compliance, and coordinate audits.
• Maintain financial records per accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
• Work on ERP systems, preferably SAP, and strong MS Excel proficiency.

Requirement: Finance officer

We are looking for a highly competent Accounting & Finance Professional with strong expertise in core accounting, financial reporting, statutory compliance, and team leadership to join our Accounts & Finance team.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage day-to-day accounting operations while ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Supervise and mentor the finance/accounts team, allocate work, and ensure timely completion of deliverables.
• Coordinate finance activities across one or more campuses/locations and collaborate with internal stakeholders.
• Manage end-to-end General Ledger (GL) accounting, bookkeeping, and ledger scrutiny.
• Handle journal entries, invoice processing, Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), and account finalization.
• Perform bank reconciliations, customer/vendor reconciliations, and month-end/year-end closing activities.
• Prepare financial statements, MIS reports, budgets, and support cash flow planning.
• Ensure compliance with GST, TDS, statutory requirements, and coordinate internal, statutory, and external audits.

Eligibility:

• Postgraduate qualification is mandatory (M.Com / MBA Finance). CA Inter or Chartered Accountant (CA) will be an added advantage.
• 5+ years of relevant experience in core accounting and finance.
• Proven expertise in General Ledger, journal entries, invoice processing, Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), bank reconciliations, financial reporting, account finalization, GST, TDS, and statutory compliance.
• Prior experience leading or managing a finance/accounts team with the ability to guide, mentor, and drive performance.
• Experience coordinating finance operations across multiple locations/campuses/business units is highly preferred.
• Experience in University/Higher Education finance, including knowledge of university financial procedures, audits, regulatory norms, and statutory compliance, will be an added advantage.
• Hands-on experience with SAP ERP is preferred.
