SwanitiInitiative aims to strengthen public service delivery by working with state andlocal governments across South Asia with a strong focus on India. Ourinterventions have included strengthening scheme implementation by identifyingcurrent gaps and limitations, providing research support to Hon’ble Members ofParliament about best practices in moving forward, and developingdata-technology tools that can back decision-making processes. With flagshipinitiatives like Supporting Parliamentarians in Analysis and Research inConstituencies (SPARC) and Leadership and Engagement Associate in District(LEAD), Swaniti has supported constituency development and district developmentplanning in various parts of the country. At present, along with working with 200+Hon'ble Members of Parliamentarians for policy making, are working as advisorsto state governments to ensure the delivery of schemes to the last mile. Majorverticals of our work are climate and sustainability, social protection, andlivelihood.

Overview of the project:

SwanitiInitiative in collaboration with several civil society organizations will beproviding technical Assistance to the Government of Jharkhand to mitigate theeffects of climate change on the vulnerable sections. This is envisioned to bedone by strengthening the existing schemes and programs the State implementsthat significantly contribute towards climate change mitigation. The largervision of the program also looks at how to make Jharkhanda leading Statein renewable energy production and consumption while helping the Statetransition gradually towards more green technology. This is in line with thesustainable development goal of making India a promoter of the use of clean andaffordable energy.

PositionOverview

We are looking for a detail-orientedand responsible Finance Officerto join our team in Pakur, Jharkhand.

The Finance Officer willsupport day-to-day finance and accounting activities, maintain financialrecords, assist with financial reporting and documentation, and coordinate withinternal teams to ensure smooth financial operations.

KeyResponsibilities

  • Maintain accurate financial and accountingrecords and documentation.
  • Assist with day-to-day accounting and financeoperations.

  • Maintain and organize financial records foraudit and compliance purposes.
  • Assist with statutory and financialcompliance-related activities as required.
  • Support the finance team during internal andexternal audits.
  • Track outstanding payments and follow up withrelevant stakeholders.
  • Perform any other finance-related dutiesassigned by the management or reporting manager.
Requirements

RequiredSkills & Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Accounting,Finance, or a related field.
  • 2–4 years of relevant experience in finance and accounting.
  • Good understanding of accounting principlesand financial processes.
  • Hands-on experience with Tally, MS Excel,or other accounting/ERP software.
  • Good knowledge of MS Excel, including basicformulas and data management.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good organizational and time-managementskills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality offinancial information.
  • Good communication and coordination skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as partof a team.

PreferredQualifications

  • Experience working with NGOs, non-profitorganizations, development-sector organizations, or similar institutionswill be an advantage.
  • Knowledge of GST, TDS, PF, and otherapplicable statutory compliances will be added advantage.
  • Candidates with experience handling financeoperations independently will be preferred.

₹35,000–₹40,000per month , depending on relevant experience, skills, and current/last drawn CTC.

Location

This position is based in Pakur,Jharkhand, and the selected candidate should be comfortable working fromthe location.
