Job summary

Emergent, Bengaluru-based, is hiring a Chartered Accountant with 5-7 years post-qualification experience to lead MIS and financial reporting. The role covers consolidation, intercompany accounting, and internal controls in a fast-growing SaaS-focused environment.

You will manage month-end close, audits, and regulatory filings, while driving process improvements and automation across R2R functions.

The Role:

We are looking for a dynamic and detail-oriented Chartered Accountant (CA) with 5-7 years of post-qualification experience to lead our MIS and financial reporting function. The role requires strong expertise in financial reporting, consolidation, accounting standards (Ind AS, IFRS and US GAAP), month-end close, audit management and internal controls. The candidate should have strong analytical capabilities, excellent stakeholder management skills and a proven record of driving process improvement and automation in a fast-paced, high-growth organisation.

What You'll Do:

• Prepare and finalise monthly, quarterly and annual standalone and consolidated financial statements as per Ind AS, US GAAP, IFRS and Companies Act requirements.
• Ensure accuracy, completeness and timeliness of financial reports.
• Drive closure of books within management-defined timelines and improve the month-end close.
• Lead statutory, internal, tax and other regulatory audits. Act as the primary point of contact for auditors and resolve audit queries on time.
• Strengthen internal financial controls (IFC) and ensure compliance with audit and regulatory requirements.
• Identify process gaps, assess risks and implement corrective actions.
• Prepare and publish monthly MIS, P&L balance sheet, variance analysis and key performance indicators.
• Develop and maintain management dashboards, segment-wise reporting and cost centre analysis.
• Track and report departmental performance, cost optimisation initiatives and efficiency metrics through department-level MIS.
• Oversee the general ledger process for timely and accurate accounting and reporting.
• Perform balance sheet reviews and reconciliations.
• Own revenue recognition for subscriptions, credits and top-ups, including deferred revenue, refunds and chargebacks.
• Manage multi-entity accounting for the US and India entities, including intercompany, FX and USD consolidation.
• Work with external advisors on statutory and tax filings, including GST, TDS and transfer pricing.
• Implement process improvements, automation and efficiency initiatives in MIS and record-to-report.
• Conduct analytical reviews of financial results to identify trends, variances and actionable insights.

What We're Looking For:

• Chartered Accountant with 5-7 years of post-qualification experience.
• Strong experience in financial reporting, consolidation, MIS, audits and record-to-report(R2R) processes.
• Sound technical knowledge of Ind AS, IFRS, US GAAP and the Companies Act.
• Experience in multi-entity accounting and financial consolidation.
• Strong understanding of internal financial controls, risk management and corporategovernance.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving and financial modelling skills.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management, with the ability to work acrossbusiness functions.
• Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage multiple priorities and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred:

• Experience at a SaaS, consumer subscription, or high-growth technology company;
• Exposure to usage-based or credit-based pricing models
• Experience supporting fundraising or working across India and US entities.
• Hands-on experience with AI tools such as Claude, Gemini or ChatGPT in day-to-day finance work
• Experience at Big 4 audit firms.
