Job summary

PlaySimple Games, a fast-growing Indian game studio, seeks a Finance Manager to lead controllership, compliance, and end-to-end processes across P2P and O2C. You will work with the CFO and Senior Director—Finance to ensure governance for pre-IPO readiness and robust reporting.

Ideal candidate has CA with 5–7 years post-qualification experience or BCom with 9–12 years in similar roles, with exposure to gaming or SaaS sectors and strong Excel/ERP skills.

Qualifications

  • Chartered Accountant with 5–7 years post-qualification experience in finance and accounts.
  • BCom with 9–12 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Experience in digital, gaming, SaaS or high-volume internet B2C companies preferred.
  • Hands-on across controllership, statutory compliance, GST, TDS, P2P and O2C.
  • Strong knowledge of Indian GAAP / Ind AS and R2R processes.
  • FEMA / cross-border transactions; Singapore exposure a plus.
  • ERP proficiency with Zoho or Tally; advanced MS Excel skills.
  • Familiarity with automation tools, dashboards and process improvements.

Responsibilities

We are looking for adetail-oriented and execution-focused Finance Manager to strengthen our Finance& Accounts function. This is a hands-on role that spans financialcontrollership, statutory and regulatory compliance, direct and indirecttaxation, and end-to-end process ownership across Procure-to-Pay (P2P) andOrder-to-Cash (O2C) cycles. The role will work closely with the Senior Director– Finance and the CFO, and will be integral to our pre-IPO governance andreporting framework.

Requirements
  • Own the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closeprocesses, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of financial statements
  • Maintain the general ledger, ensure completeness ofbooks, and oversee the Record-to-Report (R2R) cycle
  • Prepare and review financial statements in accordancewith Indian GAAP / Ind AS, including P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flowstatements
  • Support preparation of consolidated financials for thegroup, including intercompany reconciliations and eliminations
  • Drive revenue assurance — monitor billing, contracts,and data flows to prevent revenue leakage in the high-volume digital businessenvironment
  • Identify and implement process improvements andautomation initiatives to enhance reporting efficiency and accuracy

Statutory Compliances

  • Ensure timely compliance with all statutory obligations
  • Coordinate and manage statutory audits and internalaudits — liaise with auditors, review schedules, and ensure clean audit closure
  • Ensure compliance with FEMA regulations forcross-border receipts, remittances, and overseas entity transactions (Singaporeand UK)
  • Maintain and update statutory registers, fixed assetregisters, and all compliance trackers
  • Assist in preparation of disclosures and documentationrequired under pre-IPO and post-listing regulatory requirements

Direct Taxation

  • Manage end-to-end TDS compliance — deduction, challanpayment, quarterly return filing (26Q, 27Q), and issuance of Form 16 / 16A
  • Coordinate advance tax computation and timely paymentto avoid interest under Sections 234B and 234C
  • Support preparation and filing of corporate income taxreturns, tax audit reports (Form 3CD), and transfer pricing documentation
  • Assist in responding to notices, assessments, andproceedings before income tax authorities
  • Working knowledge of withholding tax implications oninternational payments and DTAA provisions

Indirect Taxation (GST)

  • Oversee GST compliance — monthly and quarterly returnfiling including GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, and annual return (GSTR-9 / 9C)
  • Manage GSTR-2A / 2B reconciliation and ensure maximuminput tax credit utilisation
  • Ensure e-invoicing compliance and e-way bill managementwherever applicable
  • Handle GST notices, audits, and departmentalcorrespondence
  • Stay updated on GST amendments relevant to the digital/ gaming / app-based business model, including taxation of online gaming

Procure-to-Pay (P2P)

  • Oversee end-to-end P2P cycle — purchase requisition,vendor onboarding, invoice processing, approvals, and payment disbursement
  • Ensure proper TDS deduction and GST treatment on vendorinvoices, and timely vendor reconciliations
  • Manage accounts payable ageing and drive timely paymentcycles without cash flow disruption
  • Review and strengthen vendor contracts from a financialrisk and compliance standpoint
  • Coordinate with internal teams for accruals,prepayments, and month-end payable reconciliations

Order-to-Cash (O2C)

  • Oversee the O2C cycle including revenue recognition,invoicing, collections, and customer reconciliations
  • Ensure accuracy of revenue booking in line with Ind AS115 / applicable accounting standards for digital and subscription-basedrevenues
  • Monitor accounts receivable ageing, coordinatecollections, and manage credit risk on customer accounts
  • Reconcile revenue from app stores (Google Play, AppleApp Store) and ad monetisation platforms with internal records
  • Support revenue assurance processes — identify gapsbetween contracted, billed, and collected amounts

Required Qualification

  • Chartered Accountant (CA) with 5–7 years ofpost-qualification experience in finance and accounts/ BCom with 9-12 years ofexperience in a similar role.
  • Prior experience in a digital, gaming, SaaS, orhigh-volume internet B2C company strongly preferred — candidates from companieswith automated, high-volume revenue processes (digital wallets, telco, gaming)will be given preference
  • Hands-on experience across controllership, statutorycompliance, GST, TDS, P2P, and O2C functions
  • Strong working knowledge of Indian GAAP / Ind AS andpractical experience with R2R processes
  • Experience handling FEMA / cross-border transactionsand international entity compliance (Singapore exposure is a plus)
  • Proficiency in ERP systems — experience with Zoho orTally; advanced MS Excel skills are essential
  • Familiarity with automation tools, financialdashboards, and process improvement initiatives
  • Strong attention to detail, ability to manage multiplecompliance deadlines, and a proactive problem-solving approach
  • Good communication skills with the ability tocoordinate across functions and present to senior stakeholders
