Job summary

Diageo India Pvt Ltd is seeking an experienced finance professional to own financial integrity for assigned entities, reviewing trail balance, balance sheet GLs and P&L to ensure accuracy and audit readiness. You will partner with Group Reporting and process teams to resolve issues and strengthen controls.

The role requires 7–11 years of experience in accounting and IFRS knowledge, with strong stakeholder management and communication skills.

Qualifications

• 7–11 years of experience in accounting/finance roles.
• Experience in IFRS, financial controls and audits.
• Ability to review reconciliations, journals and P&L commentary.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Review TB during month-end, quarter-end and year-end close; investigate movements.
• Manage Balance Sheet GLs with reconciliations, substantiation and aging explanations.
• Review P&L results, validate accruals/reclasses and provide commentary on variances.
• Coordinate external audit for assigned entities and resolve queries.
• Ensure outputs from R2R, AP, AR, Intercompany and assets are compliant.
• Identify control gaps and drive remediation and process improvements.

About this role

You will be responsible for: ROLE PURPOSE Own financial integrity for assigned Diageo entities by reviewing Trial Balance, Balance Sheet GLs and P&L, and ensuring entity results are accurate, compliant and audit-ready. Partner with Group Reporting, P&L owners and process operations teams to resolve issues and strengthen controls.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Review entity TB during month-end, quarter-end and year-end close; investigate unusual movements, misclassifications and open items.
• Manage Balance Sheet GLs for group reporting, ensuring reconciliations, substantiation, aging and movement explanations are complete.
• Review P&L results, validate accruals/reclasses and provide clear commentary to P&L owners on material variances.
• Act as key contact for Group Reporting on submissions, schedules, reporting queries and variance analysis.
• Coordinate external audit for assigned entities, including evidence review, query resolution and audit action closure.
• Review outputs from process operations teams such as R2R, AP, AR, Intercompany, Fixed Assets and other finance processes to ensure compliant accounting.
• Identify control gaps and drive remediation, root-cause fixes and process improvements.

Experience/skills required: REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

• Strong experience in financial accounting, group reporting, TB review, Balance Sheet control and P&L analysis.
• Sound knowledge of IFRS, financial controls and audit requirements.
• Able to review reconciliations, journals, schedules and financial commentary with strong attention to detail.
• Strong communication, stakeholder management, challenge and influencing skills.
• Experience working with shared services/process operations and tight close timelines.

QUALIFICATIONS

CA, CPA, ACCA, CIMA, MBA Finance or equivalent preferred; degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or a related discipline required with 7 to 11 years of experience

SUCCESS MEASURES

Timely and accurate submissions; clean Balance Sheet with substantiated GLs; meaningful P&L commentary; smooth audit closure; compliant process outputs and strong controls.
