Job summary

Jobtailor in India seeks a senior finance professional to lead the Steam India services team, manage upgrades project scope, and oversee end-to-end project accounting including setup, actuals, revenue recognition, manual journal entries, and reconciliations.

You will partner with regional leaders to deliver baseline financial cases, drive LEAN improvements, and ensure US GAAP and local compliance during monthly closures and audits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required with strong financial background.
• 12+ years of relevant accounting or finance experience in power/industrial sectors.
• Deep knowledge of US GAAP, controllership, and financial reporting.
• Proven ability to manage project accounting, planning, and commissioning phases.
• Strong communication skills to present results to varied stakeholders.
• Experience with SAP and ERP systems for project controlling.

Responsibilities

• Lead Steam India services team and manage scope for upgrades projects.
• Oversee project accounting: setup, actuals, revenue recognition, JEs, reconciliations.
• Partner with operations and fulfillment leaders to deliver baselines for finance.
• Facilitate risk and opportunity management and perpetual balance sheet accuracy.
• Support audits and ensure compliance with US GAAP and local rules.
• Lead monthly/quarterly closes and pacing submissions identifying risks & cash needs.

• Lead the Steam India services team


• Manage scope for Upgrades projects


• Oversee project accounting, including project setup, actuals booking, revenue recognition, manual journal entries, and reconciliations


• Partner with segment operations teams and fulfillment leaders in the pacing process to deliver the baseline financial case to Inquiry to Remittance Finance


• Facilitate risk and opportunity management


• Partner with the Regional Inquiry to Remittance leader on project execution


• Keep financials on track and ensure accuracy in project planning in ERP


• Lead monthly and quarterly closing, ensuring financials comply with US GAAP and local requirements


• Prepare pacing submissions identifying risks, opportunities, and cash considerations


• Support the Inquiry to Remittance team during planning cycles


• Adopt global standards for key processes


• Drive LEAN activities and support business transformation initiatives


• Review and ensure Balance Sheet accuracy


• Support statutory audits on project-related requests

Requirements

• SAP knowledge


• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline


• At least 12 years of relevant Accounting or Finance experience within the power generation or relevant industry


• Strong expertise in Project Controlling


• Strong technical finance acumen, including in-depth knowledge of US GAAP accounting, controllership principles, financial reporting, and analysis


• Solid understanding of project management and planning, sourcing, contract management, engineering, construction and commissioning, tax, and legal


• Ability to clearly communicate financial results and operational issues to various audiences and organizational levels


• Resiliency and adaptability in response to new information and unexpected circumstances


• Strong oral and written communication skills


• Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs
