Job summary

Believe is seeking a Sage X3 Techno-Functional expert to join its Finance IS team in Mumbai. You will design and implement Sage X3 projects and Change Requests, work across Accounting, Treasury, Controlling, Tax, and Consolidation, and partner with RUN and BUILD teams.

Responsibilities include requirement analysis, solution design, configuration, testing, UAT support, and knowledge transfer to the RUN team. Fluent English and a degree in IT/Finance required.

• Strong knowledge of Sage X3 Finance and related finance processes.

Job Description

Context:

Reporting to the Sage X3 Build Lead, you will join the Finance IS team and contribute to the evolution and continuous improvement of our Sage X3 Finance solution.

You will work closely with Finance stakeholders across several areas, including Accounting, Treasury, Controlling, Tax and Consolidation, as well as with other Finance IS team members such as Functional Architects, Developers and the RUN team.

The role is primarily dedicated to BUILD activities, covering projects and Change Requests around Sage X3 Finance.

You will also act as a Level 3 Sage X3 expert for the RUN team, providing advanced functional and technical expertise when complex incidents or issues require deeper investigation.

You will contribute to maintaining and improving the Finance Core Model, ensuring that solutions remain scalable, maintainable and aligned with Sage X3 best practices.

Your mission:

Build – Projects & Change requests

As a Techno‑Functional Sage X3 expert, you will contribute to the design and implementation of projects and Change Requests related to Sage X3.

You will be involved throughout the full lifecycle of the solution, from requirement analysis to implementation, testing, user support and hypercare.

Your responsibilities will include:

Perform functional and technical analysis of business requirements and assess their impact on Sage X3.

Contribute to the qualification of Change Requests, including solution design, complexity and effort assessment.

Challenge business requirements when necessary and propose sustainable solutions aligned with the Finance Core Model and Sage X3 best practices.

Configure Sage X3 Finance according to approved business requirements and functional specifications.

Analyse and configure Sage X3 interfaces, including Import/Export templates, queries, APIs and integration mechanisms.

Work closely with developers when specific developments are required, define the expected functional behaviour and contribute to the technical design and specifications.

Prepare and execute functional tests and non‑regression tests to ensure solution quality and stability.

Support business users during User Acceptance Testing (UAT), including issue analysis and resolution.

Prepare and deliver user training on new functionalities and process changes when required.

Maintain and update functional documentation, configuration documentation, test scenarios and relevant technical documentation.

Provide hypercare support following go‑live, ensuring that issues related to newly implemented solutions are quickly identified, analysed and resolved.

Ensure proper handover of implemented solutions to the RUN team once the solution has been stabilised.

The day‑to‑day operation and monitoring of Sage X3 is handled by the RUN team.

As a Sage X3 Techno‑Functional expert, you will provide advanced support to the RUN team for issues requiring deeper functional or technical expertise.

Your responsibilities will include:

Support the RUN team on complex Sage X3 incidents escalated to BUILD team

Support developers when technical corrections are required.

Contribute to root cause analysis for major or recurring incidents.

Identify recurring incidents that should lead to a permanent improvement or Change Request.

Provide guidance and recommendations to the RUN team.

Contribute to knowledge transfer and documentation to progressively increase the autonomy of the RUN team.

The role is not intended to handle standard day‑to‑day RUN activities or regular user support.

Sage X3 Functional Expertise

Strong knowledge of Sage X3 Finance.

Strong understanding of Finance processes and accounting principles.

Strong experience with Sage X3 configuration.

Good understanding of Sage X3 Core Model principles and configuration governance.

Technical Skills

Strong techno‑functional understanding of Sage X3, including several of the following:

Sage X3 Import / Export templates

Sage X3 Query tools, SQL

APIs / Web Services

Interface and integration troubleshooting

Knowledge of some of the following tools would also be appreciated:

Crystal Reports

n8n

Power BI

Integration and monitoring tool

Experience

5+ years of experience working with Sage X3, ideally with a strong focus on the Finance module.

Significant experience in Sage X3 implementation, configuration, Change Requests and technical‑functional analysis.

Experience working in an international and multi‑entity environment.

Experience analysing and resolving complex Sage X3 functional and technical issues.

Experience working with developers and translating business requirements into functional and technical solutions.

Soft Skills

Autonomous, rigorous, reliable, with strong analytical and synthesis skills. You are proactive and possess excellent adaptability.

Languages

Fluent in English (both written and spoken).

Qualifications

Bachelors or Masters' Degree in IT and/or Finance.
