• Accounting, Bookkeeping & Financial Closure

Role Purpose

The Head of Finance will lead the complete finance and accounts function partner to the leadership team. The role will be accountable for financial governance, accounting accuracy, statutory compliance, business planning, cash-flow discipline, management reporting, internal controls and decision support. The incumbent must combine strong technical depth with commercial judgment, meticulous execution, high ownership and the ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Financial Leadership & Business Partnership
  • Act as the finance leader and trusted advisor to the Managing Director / CEO and senior management on business performance, investments, profitability, risk and growth decisions.
• Build a robust finance organisation with clear roles, review mechanisms, accountability and succession planning.
• Partner with Sales, E-commerce, Retail, Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Procurement, HR and Legal to strengthen financial discipline and business outcomes.
• Accounting, Bookkeeping & Financial Closure
  • Own end-to-end accounting, bookkeeping, general ledger governance and the integrity of all financial records across entities and business channels.
  • Ensure accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and annual closure of books, including provisions, accruals, reconciliations, inventory accounting, inter-company entries and fixed assets.
  • Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with applicable Accounting Standards / Ind AS and company policies.
  • Maintain strong maker-checker controls and ensure that all ledgers, schedules and supporting documents are complete, accurate and audit-ready.
• Financial Planning, Budgeting & MIS
  • Lead annual budgets, rolling forecasts, long-range financial plans and scenario analysis.
  • Develop sharp management dashboards and MIS covering revenue, gross margin, EBITDA, channel profitability, working capital, inventory, receivables, payables, cash flow and key variances.
  • Drive cost optimisation, margin improvement, productivity and return-on-investment reviews across functions and projects.
• Treasury, Cash Flow & Working Capital
  • Own cash-flow planning, banking relationships, fund utilisation, borrowing, investments and treasury controls.
  • Improve working-capital efficiency through disciplined management of inventory, receivables, payables and credit terms.
  • Ensure adequate liquidity for business operations and planned growth while optimising the cost of funds.
• Taxation, Compliance & Audit
  • Ensure timely and accurate compliance with GST, TDS, Income Tax, Companies Act / ROC requirements and other applicable financial regulations.
  • Lead statutory audits, internal audits, tax audits and assessments; coordinate with auditors, consultants, banks and regulatory authorities.
  • Proactively identify financial, tax and compliance risks and implement corrective and preventive controls.
  • Oversee related-party transactions, documentation, transfer-pricing requirements and corporate governance matters, where applicable.
• Internal Controls, SOPs & Risk Management
  • Design, implement and continuously strengthen financial policies, SOPs, delegation-of-authority matrices and internal controls.
  • Ensure control over payments, vendor onboarding, purchase-to-pay, order-to-cash, expenses, discounts, credit notes, inventory movements and capital expenditure.
  • Investigate exceptions, leakages and control failures; ensure accountability and closure of corrective actions.
  • Promote a culture of compliance, accuracy, transparency and zero tolerance for financial indiscipline.
• SAP ERP, Systems & Process Excellence
  • Lead finance ownership of SAP ERP and ensure correct configuration, master-data governance, transaction discipline and reconciliation between financial and operational modules.
  • Drive automation and process improvement in accounting, consolidation, reporting, approvals, reconciliations, budgeting and analytics.
  • Collaborate with IT and business teams to improve ERP controls, data quality and management visibility.
  • Ensure that finance processes remain scalable for a multi-channel FMCG / beauty / retail / manufacturing business.
• Team Leadership & Stakeholder Management
  • Lead, mentor and develop the finance and accounts team; set KRAs, review performance and build technical and managerial capability.
  • Communicate complex financial matters clearly to non-finance stakeholders and secure timely action from cross-functional teams.
  • Manage external stakeholders professionally, including banks, auditors, consultants, vendors, investors and government authorities.
  • Demonstrate maturity, discretion, integrity and calm decision-making in high-pressure situations.
