Job description

Role Overview:

We are seeking a seasoned Head of Accounts to lead our financial operations in Mumbai, serving as a strategic partner to the leadership team. In this capacity, you will oversee the entire accounting lifecycle, ensuring the integrity of financial reporting and the robustness of our internal control frameworks. You will work closely with cross-functional department heads, external auditors, and regulatory bodies to drive fiscal discipline and transparency. By streamlining accounting processes and providing actionable financial insights, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the companys growth trajectory and ensuring long-term financial sustainability.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Direct the end-to-end accounting operations to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting that supports informed decision-making by the executive board.
  • Manage the statutory audit process by coordinating with external auditors to ensure full compliance with regulatory standards and timely filing of financial statements.
  • Oversee complex taxation matters, including direct and indirect tax compliance, to mitigate financial risk and optimize the companys tax position.
  • Implement and monitor rigorous internal control systems to safeguard company assets and ensure adherence to corporate governance policies.
  • Conduct deep-dive financial analysis to identify cost-saving opportunities and improve operational efficiency across business units.
  • Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of high performance and technical excellence to meet evolving business requirements.
Required Skillset:
  • Demonstrated expertise in managing comprehensive financial reporting and accounting functions within a fast-paced corporate environment.
  • Strong proficiency in navigating statutory audit requirements and complex taxation frameworks, ensuring seamless compliance with local and national regulations.
  • Proven ability to perform sophisticated financial analysis, translating raw data into strategic narratives that influence senior management decisions.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex financial concepts to non-finance stakeholders and lead diverse teams effectively.
  • A Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification is highly preferred, coupled with a track record of maintaining high ethical standards and professional integrity.
  • Adaptability to a high-pressure, on-site work environment in Mumbai, with the agility to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic business landscape.
  • 7 – 14 years of progressive experience in finance and accounting roles, with a clear history of taking ownership of financial control functions.
