Job summary

Matrix Comsec in Vadodara is seeking a proactive Finance Executive to own Fixed Asset and CAPEX accounting in SAP while supporting finance on Sales & Marketing spends from a financial and commercial perspective.

The role requires strong accounting fundamentals, hands-on SAP and MS Excel, and the ability to collaborate with stakeholders to drive actions to closure.

Responsibilities

• End-to-end accounting of Fixed Assets and CAPEX in SAP.
• Review CAPEX PRs/POs and vendor bills for accuracy.
• Verify vendor invoices for TDS and GST applicability.
• Handle asset capitalization, CWIP, and depreciation in SAP.
• Physical verification and reconciliation of assets.
• Process asset transfers, retirements, disposals and write-offs in SAP.
• Prepare asset schedules and data for audits; ensure compliance.
• Review Sales & Marketing PRs from finance/commercial perspectives.
• Identify cost-reduction opportunities and KPIs for ROI.
• Support MIS, reconciliations and financial analysis; collaborate cross-functionally.

Job description

About the Role

We are looking for a proactive, analytical and detail-oriented Finance Executive to join our Finance team at Matrix Comsec.

The role will primarily focus on Fixed Asset and CAPEX Accounting, while also supporting the Finance team in reviewing and evaluating Sales & Marketing spends from a financial and commercial perspective.

The ideal candidate should have strong accounting fundamentals, working knowledge of SAP and MS Excel, and the confidence to work with stakeholders, ask the right questions and drive activities to closure.

Key Responsibilities

Fixed Asset & CAPEX Accounting

• Manage end-to-end accounting of Fixed Assets and CAPEX in SAP.
• Review and process CAPEX PRs/POs and related vendor bills.
• Review vendor invoices for TDS and GST applicability and compliance before booking.
• Handle asset capitalization, CWIP accounting and depreciation in SAP.
• Conduct physical verification of assets and prepare reconciliation statements.
• Identify and resolve asset-related discrepancies.
• Process asset transfers, retirement, disposal and write-offs in SAP.
• Prepare asset schedules and supporting data required for audits.
• Ensure compliance with applicable Ind AS and Companies Act / Schedule II requirements.

Sales & Marketing Spend Evaluation

• Review Sales & Marketing PRs from a finance and commercial perspective.
• Understand the business rationale, necessity and expected ROI of proposed spends.
• Review assumptions and seek appropriate justification and supporting data from stakeholders.
• Identify opportunities for cost reduction, negotiation and alternative solutions.
• Where direct ROI is difficult to quantify, work with stakeholders to identify suitable KPIs and measurable outcomes.
• Proactively follow up with stakeholders and ensure PRs are adequately evaluated before approval.

Other Finance Responsibilities

• Support MIS, reconciliations and financial analysis.
• Assist with other Finance assignments and projects based on business requirements.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams and ensure assigned activities are driven to closure.
• Take ownership of additional responsibilities beyond routine accounting activities.

Skills & Competencies

• Working knowledge of SAP, preferably SAP Asset Accounting.
• Good understanding of Fixed Asset and CAPEX Accounting.
• Working knowledge of TDS and GST provisions relevant to invoice/bill processing.
• Basic understanding of Ind AS and Companies Act / Schedule II.
• Good working knowledge of MS Excel, including VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP/HLOOKUP, Pivot Tables and basic formulas.
• Strong analytical, numerical and comprehension skills.
• Good communication and stakeholder-management skills.
• Proactive, persistent and confident in asking questions and challenging business assumptions.
• Quick learner with a go-getter attitude and willingness to take ownership beyond routine accounting work.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
