Job summary

Orkla India Ltd. is seeking an experienced Accounts Receivable professional to manage end-to-end receivables for Modern Trade customers in Bengaluru.

You will monitor customer balances, drive timely collections, and help reduce aging while ensuring accurate reporting and cash flow. The role requires reconciliation experience, debit notes and claims handling, bank receipt reconciliation, and cross-functional coordination with Sales and Supply Chain.

Qualifications

• Commerce background (CA Inter/B.Com/M.Com).
• Minimum 3+ years accounting experience.
• Receivable exposure in Modern Trade preferred.
• Experience in reconciliation and SAP proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end Accounts Receivable activities for Modern Trade customers.
• Monitor customer outstanding balances and ensure timely collections to achieve cash flow targets.
• Prepare and analyze receivables MIS reports, aging reports, collection status reports, and dashboards.
• Reconcile bank receipts with customer accounts and clear open items promptly.
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies related to collections and receipts.
• Review, validate, and process customer debit notes, claims, and deductions; coordinate with Sales and Supply Chain for resolution.
• Periodic reconciliation of customer accounts to identify and resolve outstanding issues.

Role & responsibilities

• Accounts Receivable Management
• Manage end-to-end Accounts Receivable activities for Modern Trade customers.
• Monitor customer outstanding balances and ensure timely collections to achieve cash flow targets.
• Follow up on overdue accounts and minimize aging of receivables.
• Prepare and analyze receivables MIS reports, aging reports, collection status reports, and dashboards.
• Collection Accounting & Cash Application
• Ensure timely and accurate accounting of customer collections.
• Reconcile bank receipts with customer accounts and clear open items promptly.
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies related to collections and receipts.
• Debit Note & Claims Management
• Review, validate, and process customer debit notes, claims, and deductions.
• Coordinate with Sales, Supply Chain, and other stakeholders for timely resolution of disputed claims.
• Ensure appropriate accounting and reporting of customer deductions.
• Customer Account Reconciliation
• Perform periodic reconciliation of customer accounts to identify and resolve outstanding issues.
• Ensure balances recorded in books agree with customer statements and confirmations.
• Drive closure of unreconciled items within defined timelines.

Preferred candidate profile

• Commerce background either CA Inter/B.com / M. Com
• At least 3+ years of accounting experience
• Receivable Exposure Accounts, Preferably in Modern Trade
• Experience in reconciliation
• SAP Knowledge
