The role leads accounting, financial reporting, controls, and compliance for the entity and oversees a 2-5 member finance team, coordinating with group finance for consolidated reporting.

You will manage statutory filings, revenue recognition for structured finance products, and drive process improvements and automation across finance operations.

Qualifications

• CA qualified with 5-7 years post-qualification experience.
• Experience in Big 4, fintech, or high-growth startup finance operations.
• Knowledge of Ind-AS, Companies Act, GST, Income Tax and regulatory reporting.

Responsibilities

• Own accounting and financial reporting for Yubi Markets and its subsidiary.
• Lead month-end/quarter-end close processes and consolidation reporting to group.
• Establish and maintain internal controls and compliance framework.
• Ensure tax, regulatory filings, and financial disclosures are timely and accurate.
• Oversee GL, reconciliations, AP, and cash flow management.
• Lead performance management and development of the finance team.
• Develop subsidiary KPIs, dashboards, and financial analytics for management.

About the Role

The Role Position: Financial Controller | Location: Chennai | Experience: 5-7 years | Reports To: Finance Head We seek an experienced CA with 5-7 years in finance operations from Big 4, fintech, or growth-stage companies. You will lead all accounting, financial reporting, controls, and compliance functions for Yubi Markets. You will manage a team of 2-5 finance professionals, ensure subsidiary-level financial excellence, and work closely with group finance on consolidated reporting. This is a hands-on mid-level leadership role for operational excellence.

Responsibilities

• Own Yubi Wealth business - financial statements & subsidiary-level reporting under Ind-AS
• Drive month-end/quarter-end close processes & consolidation reporting to group
• Establish & maintain robust internal controls & compliance framework
• Ensure compliance with company policies and delegated authority frameworks
• Manage statutory compliance (Companies Act, tax, regulatory filings, FEMA if applicable)
• Oversee accounting operations (GL, reconciliations, inter-company transactions)
• Lead revenue recognition & billing accuracy for structured finance products and distribution of third-party products
• Manage accounts payable, vendor management & cash flow optimization
• Design, implement and continuously improve internal financial controls
• Lead finance team development, and performance management
• Develop subsidiary KPIs, dashboards & financial analytics for management
• Drive process automation & operational efficiency initiatives
• Ensure data integrity, system security & compliance across finance operations
• Ensure direct and indirect tax compliance, including GST, TDS, corporate income tax and other applicable taxes.
• Coordinate with tax advisors on assessments, notices, litigation and tax planning.
• Ensure timely filing of statutory returns and payments.
• Review tax provisions, reconciliations and related disclosures.
• Build & mentor high-performing finance team with clear career paths
• Define subsidiary accounting policies aligned with group standards
• Collaborate with Finance Head /CFO/Group Finance on subsidiary strategy
• Manage stakeholder relationships (investors, board, regulators)
• Drive adoption of new compliance requirements & accounting standards
• Support business teams with financial analysis & decision support
