Job summary

Hakimo AI, based in Bengaluru, seeks an experienced Finance Controller to build and lead the finance function as a founding member. You will own end-to-end financial operations, reporting, and planning, and drive automation while coordinating with an outsourced team transitioning to in-house capabilities.

You will shape the financial direction of a fast-growing AI company in the physical security domain, ensuring robust controls, dashboards, and strategic insight for leadership and the board.

Qualifications

• CA or MBA in Finance; CA strongly preferred.
• 6-8 years in operational and strategic finance roles.
• Experience in SaaS startups or high-growth tech companies.

Responsibilities

• Own all financial processes including revenue management, vendor payments, invoicing, and collections.
• Develop financial forecasts, budgets, and monthly statements.
• Create MIS reports and dashboards for leadership visibility.
• Design and document SOPs; implement automation and improve processes.
• Manage outsourced finance team and integrate with in-house systems.
• Ensure compliance with US accounting standards and internal controls.
• Prepare tax filings and regulatory submissions.

About the Role:

Hakimo AI is seeking an experienced Finance Controller to establish and lead our finance function based in Bangalore, India. This is a founding member role where you will own end-to-end financial operations, reporting, and planning. You will build processes from the ground up, drive automation, and work closely with our outsourced finance team while transitioning to in-house capabilities. What You'll Do (Responsibilities):

• Own all financial processes including revenue management, vendor payments, customer invoicing, and collections management.
• Ensure timely and accurate invoice processing and payment collections (AR process).
• Build and maintain vendor relationships and payment terms (AP process).
• Develop financial forecasts, budgets, and monthly financial statements.
• Create MIS reports and financial dashboards for leadership visibility.
• Conduct variance analysis and provide actionable insights to drive business decisions.
• Design and establish financial processes and workflows from scratch, documenting SOPs.
• Identify bottlenecks, implement continuous process improvements, and automate routine tasks.
• Evaluate, select, and implement finance software and systems (accounting, ERP, payment platforms).
• Own the technology roadmap for finance and manage integrations with other business systems.
• Liaise with the outsourced finance team, defining roles, responsibilities, and handoffs.
• Monitor the quality of outsourced work and provide feedback for improvement.
• Ensure compliance with US accounting standards, establishing internal controls and audit procedures.
• Prepare tax filings and regulatory submissions, maintaining accurate financial records.

What We're Looking For (Requirements):

• Chartered Accountant (CA) or MBA in Finance (CA strongly preferred).
• 6-8 years of hands-on finance experience in operational and strategic finance roles.
• Proven experience in SaaS startups or high-growth tech companies, ideally in scaling phases.
• Proficiency with accounting software, ERPs, and financial tools; experience with finance automation and data analytics.
• Strong understanding of financial statements, forecasting, and cash management.
• Process design and optimization skills with strong attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Ability to work independently and drive cross-functional initiatives.
