Aga Khan Rural Support Programme India (AKRSP India) is a non-denominational, non-political, non-government organization. AKRSP India was established in 1983 and it seeks to contribute to rural poverty reduction through community involvement and empowerment that leads to efficient management and an improved environment.

Position Summary

The Finance Associate will support the finance team in managing day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring compliance with statutory and donor requirements, and maintaining accurate financial records for project activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Scrutinize and verify all claims, bills, invoices, and supporting documents received.
  • Timely release of payment as per financial guidelines.
  • Maintain proper records of the books
  • Enter financial transactions into BC-ERP accurately and promptly, ensuring there are no data entry errors.
  • Maintain proper filing of financial documents for audit and donor compliance.
  • Assist with internal and external audits by providing required documentation
  • Coordinate with program teams to verify financial documentation and expenditure
  • Assist the field finance team during internal, statutory, donor, and external audits by providing required documentation and clarifications.
  • Undertake field visits as and when required
  • Ensure compliance with organizational financial policies, donor guidelines, statutory requirements, and applicable accounting standards
  • Maintain confidentiality of financial records and sensitive organizational information.

  • Support the Reporting officer and other members in any other finance and accounts-related assignments as required.
Qualifications

Graduate/Postgraduate in Commerce (B. Com/M. Com)

  • Accuracy and timeliness of financial data entry and record maintenance.
  • Timely processing of payments, reimbursements, and claims.
  • Compliance with financial policies, donor requirements, and statutory regulations.
  • Proper maintenance of financial documentation and audit readiness.
  • Minimal audit observations related to financial documentation and accounting processes.
  • Effective coordination with program teams and field offices for financial compliance.
  • Timely closure of pending financial issues and documentation.
  • Positive feedback from reporting officer, field offices, and internal stakeholders regarding accuracy, responsiveness, and support.
