Job summary

Wabtec in India invites a seasoned Field Service Engineer to deliver warranty services from product delivery through the warranty period, spanning customer sites and locomotives. You will execute all field operations, support commissioning, coordinate with Engineering & Quality, ensure availability of tools and spares, and manage site inventory.

The role requires 5–8 years of experience, a B.Tech or Diploma in Electrical or Mechanical, and willingness to travel; English and Hindi or regional

• IT literacy; Proficient with MS Office and related tools.

Responsibilities

• Deliver warranty services from product delivery to end of warranty.
• Support during commissioning of Product/System on train and locomotive.
• Execute all field operations (retrofit, overhaul, maintenance) to meet FT objectives.
• Provide support to Engineering & Quality for problem solving.
• Ensure availability and use of tools for Warranty & Customer support.
• Ensure spare parts availability and manage site inventory for maintenance/overhaul.
• Provide field feedback to improve reliability of products.
• Challenge customer claims and validate warranty requirements.
• Participate in EHS and QRQC/FRACAS processes.
• Periodically report open customer points and follow up until closure.

Job description

Key missions of the position:

• Planning and Implementation of all the retrofits/maintenance &overhauling of products at Customer site
• Secure product performances by monitoring and implementing the containment actions, troubleshooting etc.
• Having regular meeting with customer for the product performance and getting it sign-off on periodic basis as per the contractual requirements
• Improve Customer response time
• Cost Effectiveness by improving efficiency during warranty intervention, preventive and corrective maintenance, overhauling.

Main responsibilities:

• Deliver warranty services from delivery of the product to the end of warranty period
• Support during the commissioning of the Product/System on train and Locomotive
• Execute all Field scheduled operations (retrofit, overhaul, maintenance etc.) in order to meet FT objectives and Customer requirements
• Provide support to Engineering & Quality team for effective problem solving
• Ensure availability and use of special tools for Warranty & Customer support
• Ensure availability of Spares for 0km and Warranty service and efficiently manage site inventory required for maintenance and overhaul
• Ensure feedback of field experience at all stages to improve reliability of the products
• Challenge Customer's claim and establish authenticity of customer warranty claim
• Responsible of EHS (Environment, Health and Safety) organization & deployment
• Participate actively in QRQC (Quick Response Quality Control) process & Failure Reporting Analysis & Corrective Action System (FRACAS)
• Periodic reporting of the open points of Customer and follow ups till the action is closed.

Education : B.Tech/Diploma - Electrical or Mechanical

Professional Experience - 5 to 8 years as Service Engineer

Key Competences :

• Should have very good communication skill in English and Hindi/Regional language
• Strong analytical skills ,Flexible attitude to work in changing environment , Presentation skills ,
• Should have good technical understanding of electrical and pneumatic circuits. Relevant rolling stock experience is preferable
• IT literate and fully conversant with all Microsoft office applications
• Ready to travel frequently , Customer oriented
