Job summary

Rolls-Royce is seeking a Field Service Engineer – Electronics to support service, installation, repair, and testing of marine electronic systems from our Pune location. The role requires a strong electrical engineering background and the ability to interpret ship wiring diagrams.

The candidate will work with MTU engine ECUs (MDEC, ADEC, MCS5), conduct insulation tests, and collaborate with service teams on scoping and project execution.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering or related field.
• Experience in marine electronics repair and testing is required.
• Ability to interpret ship wiring diagrams and electrical schemes.

Responsibilities

• Service, install, assemble and test marine electronic systems per project specs.
• Interpret electrical diagrams and perform wiring per drawings.
• Handle marine electronics and related circuits during service calls.
• Conduct insulation tests for electrical components and cables.
• Operate measurement data acquisition systems in marine environments.
• Work with electronic ECUs for MTU engines (MDEC, ADEC, MCS5).
• Monitor panels and cables during testing and troubleshooting.

Field Service Engineer – Electronics

Location: Pune | Experience: 5+ years

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Electronics Service Engineer to support the service, install, repair, and test of marine electronic systems. The role requires a strong background in electrical engineering, proficiency in interpreting ship wiring diagrams, and extensive experience with marine electronics repair and testing.

Key Responsibilities

• Service, install, assemble, and test marine electronic systems according to project specifications.
• Interpret electrical diagrams and execute system wiring as per drawings.
• Handle marine electronics and associated circuits.
• Conduct insulation tests for electrical components and cables.
• Operate measurement data acquisition systems specific to marine environments.
• Work with electronic ECUs for MTU engines such as MDEC, ADEC, and MCS5 control systems.
• Monitor electronic panels and cables during testing.
• Troubleshoot marine electronic control and auxiliary systems.
• Repair and test electronic components in accordance with maritime standards.
• Collaborate with service teams, conduct scoping meetings, and support team building.
• Participate in cross-functional teamwork and foster collaboration.
• Maintain excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Educational Qualification

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, or related field.
• Additional electronics certifications are an advantage.
