Hitachi Energy is seeking a field service professional to support HVDC/HVAC systems on-site. You will troubleshoot, maintain, and restore equipment, ensuring reliability and customer satisfaction.
The role involves travel, coordination with vendors and OEMs, and adherence to HSE standards. Qualification includes a diploma or bachelor’s in electrical engineering with 5 years’ experience in HVDC/HVAC, substations or power systems.
Hitachi Energy Grid Integration (HVDC) offers an exciting opportunity to work with advanced High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) and High Voltage Alternating Current (HVAC) technologies. You will be part of the Services team, supporting the installed base of HVDC systems by ensuring reliable operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and customer satisfaction while contributing to the long-term performance and availability of critical power infrastructure.
Demonstrate a strong commitment to Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) standards, policies, and guidelines.
Serve as the primary customer interface for the HVDC installed base and maintain strong customer relationships.
Perform troubleshooting and restoration activities for HVDC systems and equipment during failures or outages, in coordination with technical experts.
Execute preventive and corrective maintenance activities for HVDC and HVAC equipment.
Monitor installed HVDC assets using Asset Management tools, including performance monitoring and inventory control.
Coordinate with internal teams, customers, vendors, and OEMs to ensure fulfillment of warranty obligations and service requirements.
Manage replacement, installation, and commissioning activities related to failed HVDC/HVAC equipment.
Support Service Project Managers by providing reports, technical inputs, and updates related to warranty, reliability, availability, and Long-Term Service Agreements (LTSA).
Prepare and maintain site documentation, including Minutes of Meeting (MOM), and service reports.
Review technical drawings, engineering documents, protection schemes, and operating procedures to support maintenance and fault resolution.
Participate in outage management, fault investigations, emergency response activities, and root cause analysis.
Ensure timely communication and coordination with technical support teams during critical service events.
Travel domestically and internationally to support customer sites and project requirements.

Diploma or bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related discipline.
Additional certifications or training in HVDC, substation systems, control & protection, or power system maintenance will be considered an advantage.
5 Years of experience in HVDC/HVAC systems, substations, power transmission, grid integration, or power system maintenance.
Hands-on experience in troubleshooting, maintenance, and operation of electrical equipment in utility, transmission, or industrial environments.
Experience in customer-facing service roles and managing technical support activities.
Exposure to outage management, fault diagnosis, equipment replacement, and commissioning activities.
Experience working with warranty management, LTSA contracts, reliability, and availability monitoring is preferred.
Willingness to travel extensively and work in demanding operational environments.
Proficiency in both spoken & written English language is required.
