We are looking for an experienced and safety-conscious Field Operator – Utility (ECH) to support the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of utility systems within the plant. The role will be responsible for monitoring field equipment and operating parameters, carrying out routine operational activities, responding to emergency situations, and ensuring smooth functioning of the utility area in line with standard operating procedures.

Key Individual Accountabilities
1. Utility Area Operations
- Carry out field operations and routine monitoring of equipment and systems in the Utility (ECH) area.
- Ensure safe and reliable operation of utility equipment as per defined Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Monitor operating parameters, equipment condition, and process abnormalities during normal plant operations.
- Conduct regular field rounds and inspections to identify abnormalities, leaks, equipment issues, or unsafe conditions.
- Coordinate with the control room and concerned departments to maintain stable and efficient utility operations.
- Ensure timely reporting of deviations and operational issues to the shift in-charge.
- Ensure compliance with company safety standards and statutory requirements.
- Identify and report unsafe conditions, potential hazards, and operational risks.
- Support implementation of safety initiatives and participate in safety meetings, training, and audits.
- Ensure operations are carried out in accordance with applicable environmental requirements.
2. Equipment Monitoring & Operational Reliability
- Monitor the health and operating condition of utility equipment and associated systems.
- Perform routine checks of pumps, valves, pipelines, instruments, and other utility-area equipment.
- Identify equipment abnormalities and coordinate with Maintenance and Instrumentation teams for timely resolution.
- Support start-up, shutdown, isolation, and other operational activities as per approved procedures.
- Ensure proper equipment line-up and availability of utilities required for smooth plant operation.
- Respond effectively to operational emergencies, equipment failures, leaks, and other abnormal situations.
- Follow established emergency response procedures and immediately communicate critical deviations to the concerned shift team.
- Support safe isolation and stabilization of equipment during emergency situations.
- Participate in emergency drills and demonstrate awareness of emergency response procedures.
- Take appropriate actions to minimize operational risks, equipment damage, and plant downtime.
- Ensure strict adherence to Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) requirements during all field activities.
- Follow applicable safety procedures, work permits, isolation procedures, PPE requirements, and safe operating practices.
5. Quality & Operational Procedures
- Ensure adherence to defined SOPs, operating procedures, and plant standards.
- Maintain operational discipline and ensure proper documentation of field activities and shift observations.
- Support implementation of ISO standards and procedures within the utility area.
- Maintain accurate shift records, equipment readings, checklists, and operational reports.
- Coordinate with relevant teams to ensure timely resolution of operational deviations.
6. Cross-Functional Coordination
- Coordinate with Process, Maintenance, Electrical, Instrumentation, EHS, and other plant teams for smooth utility operations.
- Communicate equipment abnormalities, operational deviations, and maintenance requirements to the concerned teams.
- Support maintenance activities by ensuring equipment is safely isolated and made available as per approved procedures.
- Participate in shift handovers and daily operational review meetings.
- Work collaboratively with team members to achieve safe and reliable plant performance.

Technical & Behavioral Skills & Knowledge
- **Diploma in Chemical / Mechanical Engineering or B.Sc.**
- **5–8 years of experience** in medium to large-scale **Chemical / Chlor-Alkali industries**.
- Relevant experience in **utility area operations** is mandatory.
- Good understanding of field operations, equipment monitoring, plant utilities, and operating procedures.
- Knowledge and experience in **emergency handling** and response to abnormal plant conditions.
- Knowledge of **ISO standards and procedures**.
- Operational knowledge of computers and basic digital/plant operating systems.
- Exposure to necessary **statutory compliance requirements**.
- Good knowledge and exposure to **Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) requirements**.
- Ability to identify operational abnormalities and take timely corrective action.
