Job summary

Thermo Fisher Scientific India Pvt Ltd in Mumbai is seeking a Field Applications Scientist to support customers on technical applications and training in the field, within the Chemical Analysis Division for our Bulk Elemental Analysis product line. The candidate will work collaboratively with the commercial team to identify clear customer needs and to manage the implementation of application solutions.

You will be responsible for setting up calibration methods, supporting customer development

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Chemistry or Materials Science.
• 2–3 years hands-on experience with XRF & XRD.
• OES experience is a plus.
• Willingness to travel domestically up to 80%.
• Strong communication and MS Office skills.

Responsibilities

• Support commercial team with technical solutions in pre- and post-sales activities.
• Set up calibration methods for different customers via remote and on-site visits.

Job Description

As a Field Application Scientist , you will support our customers on technical applications and training in the field, within the Chemical Analysis Division for our Bulk Elemental Analysis product line. The candidate will work collaboratively with the commercial team to identify clear customer needs and to manage the implementation of application solutions. Critical to this role is a strong connection to our product organization. Assisting with product development and the evolving needs of our customers in the markets we serve.

• Support commercial team in both pre-sales and post-sales activities by providing technical solutions.
• Orchestrate / contribute towards successful setup of calibration methods for different customers using both remote and on-site visits.
• Support existing customers with their application development and optimization.
• Support regional commercial team with prospective customer on-site visits/demonstrations.
• Assist our field service team with all application support requests.
• Attend trade shows and exhibitions to present products and network with our customers.
• Maintain good working relationships with our Indian and Global technical community of Application Scientists.

Education

Education Master's degree in Chemistry / Material Science.

Technical Qualification

Technical Qualification with proven experience in chemical analysis of various materials.

Experience

• Minimum 2-3 years of hands-on experience with X-ray-based analytical instruments, specifically XRF and XRD, is mandatory.
• Experience with Optical Emission Spectroscopy (OES) will be an added advantage.
• Hands-on experience in the field of various solids and liquids analysis.
• Physical fitness for being able to visit industrial production sites is mandatory.

• Self-organized and effective time management.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to effectively communicate, both orally and in writing, to management, customers, and third parties.
• Ability to travel domestically up to 80% with occasional international travel.
• Proficient in English and Hindi.
• Other language proficiency is appreciated.
