Job summary

Fichtner Consulting Engineers India in Chennai seeks a senior CI design professional to lead control and instrumentation projects for power plants. You will drive CI design, architecture, and system integration for DCS/PLC/SCADA, ensuring robust engineering across all phases.

Coordinate with OEMs and multidisciplinary teams, review vendor docs, prepare design basis and field wiring layouts, and support commissioning, FAT/SAT on combined cycle and thermal plants.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in instrumentation, electrical or electronic engineering.
• Master’s degree preferred for advanced roles.
• Experience leading CI design for power projects is essential.

• Support FAT, SAT, commissioning, and site activities.

• Lead and execute Controls Instrumentation (CI) design and detailed engineering for combined cycle and thermal power plant projects.
• Develop control system architecture, control philosophies, logic diagrams, and system integration for DCS/PLC/SCADA systems.
• Prepare Instrumentation Design Basis, specifications, layouts, cable engineering, and field instrumentation designs.
• Handle BOP instrumentation engineering and interface with OEM packages (GT, ST, HRSG, vendor skids).
• Review vendor documents and ensure compliance with project specifications and industry standards.
• Support and participate in FAT, SAT, commissioning, and site activities.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary engineering teams, OEMs, contractors, and site personnel throughout the project lifecycle.
