Job summary

Ideal Placement And Consultants is seeking a Fermentation Executive for a Zambia-based beverage manufacturing operation. The role requires hands-on supervision of fermentation activities on a fast-paced production line, ensuring product quality and process control.

You will monitor parameter trends, maintain GMP and food safety standards, and collaborate with QA/QC and maintenance teams. The position involves a 2-year overseas contract with international exposure.

Qualifications

• M.Sc. in Microbiology, Biotechnology, Fermentation Technology, Food Technology or related discipline.
• 2–5 years of relevant experience in beverage or food manufacturing.
• Passport valid and willing to relocate to Zambia for a 2-year overseas contract.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and control fermentation processes according to approved procedures.
• Operate and monitor fermenters, tanks and associated processing equipment.
• Maintain process parameters such as temperature, pH, time and other controls.
• Ensure GMP, hygiene and food safety compliance; coordinate with QA/QC for sampling and batch release.
• Coordinate with Maintenance for preventive maintenance and equipment troubleshooting.

Our client is a growing beverage manufacturing company based in Zambia, Africa, engaged in the production of energy drinks and other consumer beverage products. The organization focuses on product quality, hygienic manufacturing practices, process efficiency and food safety standards.

Position Overview

We are seeking a technically competent and hands‑on Fermentation Executive with 2–5 years of experience in beverage, food processing or related manufacturing industries.

The candidate will be responsible for monitoring fermentation‑related production activities, maintaining process parameters, ensuring product quality, supporting production operations and coordinating with Quality Control and Maintenance teams.

Key Responsibilities

Fermentation & Production Operations

• Monitor and control fermentation processes according to approved manufacturing procedures.
• Operate and monitor fermenters, tanks and associated processing equipment.
• Maintain process parameters such as temperature, pH, time and other applicable production controls.
• Monitor batch performance, process consistency and production efficiency.
• Support preparation, processing and transfer of materials between production stages.
• Identify process deviations and coordinate corrective actions.

Quality & Food Safety

• Ensure compliance with GMP, hygiene, sanitation and food safety requirements.
• Coordinate with QA/QC teams for sampling, testing and batch release.
• Maintain proper cleaning and sanitation of fermentation and processing equipment.
• Support CIP (Cleaning-in-Place) and sanitation procedures wherever applicable.
• Assist in troubleshooting contamination, batch variations and process‑quality issues.

Equipment & Process Management

• Coordinate with Maintenance teams for preventive maintenance and equipment troubleshooting.
• Monitor equipment performance and report abnormalities.
• Support process improvements to reduce wastage and improve production efficiency.

Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain batch manufacturing records, process logs and production reports.
• Record critical operating parameters and deviations.
• Prepare daily production and process performance reports.
• Follow approved SOPs and manufacturing documentation procedures.

Desired Candidate Profile

• M.Sc. in Microbiology, Biotechnology, Fermentation Technology, Food Technology or a related discipline.
• 2–5 years of relevant experience in beverage or food manufacturing.
• Practical exposure to fermentation, beverage processing, food production or related manufacturing operations.
• Knowledge of GMP, food safety, hygiene and quality control procedures.
• Ability to work independently and coordinate with production and technical teams.
• Good communication, documentation and problem‑solving skills.
• Willingness to work in a manufacturing environment and undertake shift duties where required.

Overseas Employment Requirements

• Valid passport is mandatory.
• Willing to relocate to Zambia, Africa.
• Willing to work under a 2-year employment contract.
• Adaptable to an international industrial working environment.
