Job summary

Speed Global in Pune, India is seeking a structural FEA engineer with 3-4 years of experience to perform advanced analyses using ANSYS Workbench, Design Modeler/SpaceClaim, and Meshing on fuel system components.

You will evaluate stresses, fatigue, durability, and dynamic behavior, develop mathematical calculators in Excel when needed, and communicate findings to global stakeholders in India, US, China and Sweden.

Qualifications

• Around 3 years of experience in Structural FEA/Analysis using ANSYS.
• BE/BTech or ME/MTech in Mechanical Engineering or allied field; Master’s degree preferred.
• Strong fundamentals in Strength of Materials and Applied Mechanics.
• Good English communication and customer interaction skills.

Responsibilities

• Support structural FEA projects using ANSYS Workbench (Mechanical), Design Modeler/SpaceClaim and Meshing.
• Perform structural stress, deformation, fatigue and durability analysis of fuel system components such as fuel pumps, injectors and rails.
• Perform both component- and assembly-level analysis with appropriate loads, boundary conditions and operating conditions.
• Carry out linear and non-linear analysis, including contact and material non-linearities.
• Perform dynamic analysis, including modal, transient/impact and thermal analysis as required.
• Obtain and thoroughly review analysis inputs and understand requirements and operating environment.
• Prepare clear and concise technical documentation and reports, and present analysis results to global customers and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Support structural FEA projects using ANSYS Workbench (Mechanical), Design Modeler/SpaceClaim and Meshing as per customer requirements.
• Perform structural stress, deformation, fatigue and durability analysis of fuel system components such as fuel pumps, injectors and rails.
• Perform both component- and assembly-level analysis, considering appropriate loads, boundary conditions, contacts and operating conditions.
• Perform linear and non-linear analysis, including contact and material non-linearities.
• Perform dynamic analysis, including modal, transient/impact and thermal analysis as required.
• Obtain and thoroughly review analysis inputs and understand the component/system requirements and operating environment.
• Perform first-principles/engineering calculations and sanity checks to validate FEA results; develop Excel-based calculators when required.
• Interpret analysis results and provide appropriate design recommendations, considering manufacturing, assembly and cost aspects.
• Understand and apply fatigue and durability principles in structural assessments.
• Resolve analysis and convergence-related issues.
• Prepare clear and concise technical documentation and reports, and present/discuss analysis results with global customers and stakeholders across India, US, China and Sweden.
• Maintain regular customer communication, understand requirements and deliver customer-focused solutions.
• Continuously develop technical and professional skills.

Skills & Experience Required

• Experience: Around 3 years of experience in Structural FEA/Analysis using ANSYS.
• Education: BE/BTech or ME/MTech in Mechanical Engineering or allied field; Master's degree preferred.
• Tool Knowledge: Good working knowledge of ANSYS Workbench (Mechanical), Design Modeler, SpaceClaim and Meshing.
• ANSYS Classic: User-level knowledge is an added advantage.
• Technical Knowledge: Strong fundamentals in Strength of Materials and Applied Mechanics.
• FEA Skills: Good understanding of loads, boundary conditions, static, modal, dynamic and assembly-level analysis.
• Non-linear Analysis: Understanding of contact and material non-linearities.
• Dynamic Analysis: Understanding of transient/impact, thermal and modal analysis.
• Fatigue & Durability: Understanding of fatigue and durability principles.
• Communication: Good English communication, presentation and customer interaction skills.
