Job summary

MICHELIN France seeks a Mechanical/Automotive engineer (0-3 years) to contribute to tire design simulations using Finite Element Analysis. You will perform analyses to understand performance variations and support feasibility studies under regulatory and internal guidelines.

You will also document methods, share knowledge, and mentor others while learning new tools like Python or VBA. A proactive, collaborative team player with a strong learning mindset is ideal, willing to travel if needed.

Qualifications

• Graduate (B.E / B.Tech) in Mechanical / Automobile Engineering (Fresher/ 0-3 year of experience)
• Post-Graduate (M.E / M.Tech) in Mechanical / Automobile Engineering (Fresher/ 0-3 year of experience)
• Fundamental knowledge on Finite Element Analysis
• Basic knowledge of strength of materials

Responsibilities

• Usage of FEA to define mold shapes meeting homologation and regulatory requirements
• FEA-based analyses to evaluate tire performance under design/usage variations
• Assess scenarios in tireline or OE feasibility studies using FEA
• Present simulation results and advise design decisions
• Act as key-user / product owner / business analyst as needed
• Engage in technical exchanges (Tech clubs, focus groups)
• Adhere to company policies and meet project deadlines
• Share knowledge via reports on design rules and tire mechanics
• Document simulation methods and best practices
• Mentor new analysts and tire designers in simulation tools
• Develop and test new simulation tools and provide feedback
• Coordinate with global regions to align efforts

Job description

• Usage of FEA and other analytical tools to define mold shapes which respect internal homologation, tireline, government/regulatory, and industrial requirements.
• Analytical studies using FEA to determine tire performance based upon variations in design and/or usage.
• Assessments of proposed scenarios during a tireline or OE development project feasibility study using FEA and other analytical techniques.
• Presentation of simulation results and consultation for design decisions both inside and outside of design event activities.
• Able to perform responsibilities of Key-user, Product Owner, Business Analyst, etc.. on need basis.
• Engagement in technical exchanges (Tech club & Focus group participation, etc).
• Adhering to the company policies.
• Meet the deadline defined for each project.

Knowledge Sharing:

• Creation of reports regarding golden nuggets or fundamental knowledge for new design rules and understandings of tire mechanics and analysis methods.
• Documentation of simulation methods and best practices (Lv-1).
• Transmission of knowledge and development of people in simulation tools/practices through teaching in the Tire Design school and mentoring/training new analysts and tire designers.

Progress and Collaboration:

• Engage in the development and testing of new simulation tools, providing valuable feedback to improve these resources.
• Serve as a key liaison across different global regions in this field, ensuring alignment and excellence in our collaborative efforts.
