Qualifications

Within Strategy, Finance Function Strategy helps shape the CFO agenda and activate it from strategy through end-to-end transformation. We support CFOs in reimagining and positioning Finance as a driver of growth, resilience, and enterprise value by combining: - Sector knowledge (industry economics, operating models, and risk dynamics) to inform CFO-relevant decisions, - Finance expertise (the evolving expectations of the CFO and value levels across Finance), and - Activating the firm (orchestrating the right specialists to translate vision into execution across the transformation lifecycle).

As a Manager Finance Function Strategy , you will lead large-scale finance function strategy and transformation engagements across operating model redesign, digital finance, cost and performance optimization, and enterprise transformation. You will manage client relationships, oversee delivery teams, and translate strategic vision into executable roadmaps that deliver measurable impact. You will work closely with senior client stakeholders (CFOs, Finance Directors, Controllers) and cross-functional teams to shape transformation agendas, activate change, and drive sustained outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

As a Manager in Finance Function Strategy (FFS) practice, you will lead high-impact transformation engagements that help CFOs reimagine and modernize the Finance function. This role combines strategic thinking, client leadership, and team management to deliver measurable outcomes for global clients.

• Primary Responsibilities – Lead Finance function strategy & transformation for the client across the M&A and capital markets lifecycle from pre-sign to post-exit by driving Day-1 readiness, IPO preparedness, Target Operating Model (TOM alignment), separation / integration planning & execution and performance & controls governance. Shape and execute Finance separation and integration strategies (carve-outs, standalone cost models), partnering with Deals and advisory teams to protect and maximize deal value .
• Secondary Responsibilities – Shape CFO agendas by advising on finance strategy, operating model redesign, digital enablement, and performance improvement initiatives. Drive Digital & AI-first finance transformation initiatives, including use case prioritization, value realization frameworks, and automation roadmaps. Lead large, complex Finance Strategy & transformation engagements, managing end-to-end workstreams. Facilitate senior stakeholder workshops and steer decision forums to align strategic directions. Recommend relevant solutions to support the reimagining of Finance processes, targeting greater business performance and agility. Review and ensure high-quality client deliverables (executive presentations, business cases, transformation roadmaps). Lead and mentor teams of Associates and Senior Associates, ensuring quality deliverables, structured problem-solving, and capability development. Contribute to business development through proposal development, thought leadership, client presentations, and pursuit support. Collaborate across competencies to bring integrated solutions spanning strategy, technology, deals, and operations.

What skill does it take?

Strong understanding of the Finance Function domain in the M&A lifecycle, carve-outs, integrations(planning & execution), separations, IPO readiness, Day 1 readiness, and transaction governance structures. Strong industry acumen and strategy consulting capability with ability to independently lead complex engagements. Experience with AI tools like ChatGPT, Vercel (v0), Claude, along with data analysis, modeling and visualization using Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Visio, Visual Basic, Power BI, Alteryx or other tools Executive-level communication and storytelling skills (written and verbal). Strong project management and stakeholder management skills. Demonstrated people leadership, coaching, and team development capability. Experience shaping CFO agendas and aligning Finance strategy with enterprise strategy. Understanding of Finance processes (R2R, P2P, O2C, FP&A), close acceleration, and reporting harmonization.

Qualifications

• Qualifications MBA / PGDM from a premier/ tier 1 B-School / Qualified CA / CPA / ICWA / CMA with relevant strategy or management consulting experience 7+ years of relevant experience , including significant exposure to strategy consulting or large-scale Finance transformation programs.
• Demonstrated experience of Finance function domain in following areas: M&A Finance integration / separation Carve-outs and standalone operating model design IPO / capital markets readiness Digital Finance strategy (including AI) Proven experience managing client engagements and leading cross-functional teams.
