Job summary

Capgemini is seeking an entry-level Data Engineer to help transform raw data into structured datasets and enable data-driven decision making. You will work across data ingestion, transformation, modeling, and validation under the guidance of senior engineers, gradually taking on more responsibility as you grow.

Qualifications

• SQL knowledge at entry level (1-3 years).
• Python experience at entry level (1-3 years).
• Experience with dbt for data transformations (entry level).
• Familiarity with Airflow for scheduling and orchestration (entry level).
• Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) at entry level (1-3 years).
• English fluency to communicate with teams and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Assist in transforming raw data into structured, analysis-ready datasets.
• Support end-to-end data workflows: ingestion, transformation, modeling and validation.
• Work under coaching from data leadership to deliver reliable data for decision-making.

Exp- 1 to 3 years
This position plays a role in the data ecosystem by assisting in transforming raw data into structured, high-quality datasets that are ready for analysis. The role primarily focuses on low to moderately complex business problems while receiving coaching and guidance from data leadership. The role combines the technical skills of a data engineer, the analytical mindset of a data analyst, and working business acumen to ensure data is not only collected and stored efficiently but also accessible and insightful for end users. With some coaching and guidance from more experienced engineers, the position is responsible for end-to-end data workflow including data ingestion, transformation, modeling, and validation to enable data-driven decision-making across the organization. The position requires understanding of data engineering, business processes, and analytics principles as well as a proactive approach to solving complex data challenges.
