Position Title: Factory Manager-Printing / Packaging

Industry Vertical: Print Manufacturing, Publishing & Commercial Packaging

Location: Delhi NCR (Corporate Plant)

Experience: 5 to 8 Years of core print-plant supervisory experience

Compensation Bracket: 5,00,000 8,50,000 Gross Per Annum (CTC dependent on experience and credentials)

Reporting Hierarchy: Reports directly to the Chief Operating Officer (COO) / Managing Director (MD)

Job Purpose

The Factory Manager will oversee end-to-end plant operations, press/post-press machinery workflows, shift planning, workforce management, and supply chain logistics. A critical mandate of this role is ensuring absolute adherence to Indian Industrial Laws, the Factories Act, pollution control norms, and local state structural compliances governing print-based manufacturing facilities in the Delhi NCR region.

Key Responsibility Areas (KRAs) & Specific Duties
KRA 1
  • Production Engineering: Direct and optimize daily workflows across Pre-Press, Press (Offset/Digital), and Post-Press (Binding, Lamination, Cutting, and Packaging) divisions.
  • Capacity Utilization: Formulate daily/weekly machine allocation matrixes to eliminate production bottlenecks, minimize print-run downtimes, and execute publishing orders within tight turnaround windows.
  • Wastage Control: Enforce strict Quality Assurance (QA) checkpoints to regulate paper GSM margins, ink metrics, and chemical consumables wastage, keeping output reject rates below a strict 1.5% threshold.
  • Maintenance Frameworks: Establish preventative and breakdown engineering maintenance structures for high-speed printing presses and binding assemblies to guarantee continuous machine uptime.
KRA 2
  • Factories Act Adherence: Serve as the primary custodian for plant-level compliance under The Factories Act, 1948, governing working hours, safety guards, ventilation, health audits, and overtime management.
  • Environmental & Pollution Compliance: Oversee direct compliance with the Delhi Pollution Control Committee (DPCC) or Uttar Pradesh Pollution Control Board (UPPCB) guidelines concerning the safe disposal of hazardous printing chemicals, volatile organic compounds (VOCs), ink sludges, and industrial effluents.
  • Labor Law Matrix: Administer complete statutory compliance for the plant workforce, including the Minimum Wages Act, Contract Labour (R&A) Act, Employees' Provident Funds (EPF) Act, and Employees' State Insurance (ESI) Act.
  • Liaison & Inspections: Act as the face of the organization during official audits, inspections, and licensing renewals conducted by Factory Inspectors, Fire Safety Departments, Local Municipal Bodies, and Labor Commissioners.
KRA 3:
  • Material Management: Supervise raw material intake channels (paper reels, plates, specialized films, inks) and coordinate with central procurement units to prevent inventory stockouts or over-purchasing.
  • Warehouse & Logistics Oversight: Audit dispatch channels to ensure finished publications, books, or commercial consignments are logged accurately into the central ERP system and handed over to logistics partners efficiently.

Candidate Specification & Qualifications
  • Educational Profile: Degree or Diploma in Printing Technology / Mechanical Engineering / Production Management. An additional certification or degree in Industrial Relations / Labor Law / Business Administration will be highly advantageous.
  • Domain Expertise: High technical literacy regarding single/multi-color offset printing machines, web offset presses, perfect binding lines, and advanced prepress CTP technologies.
  • Legal Proficiency: Comprehensive practical knowledge of local Delhi NCR industrial labor issues, trade union management, safety protocols, and structural corporate compliance mandates.
  • Soft Skills: Authoritative leadership style, strong crisis-management capability, exceptional negotiation skills, and the capability to manage a diverse blueprint of contract laborers and permanent technicians.
