Job summary

Golden Coir Tufts in Pollachi, Tamil Nadu seeks a Factory Manager to lead end-to-end factory operations. You will supervise production planning, quality control, and safety, while coordinating with multiple departments to meet shipment schedules.

The role requires hands-on floor leadership, robust people management, and a focus on process improvements to drive productivity and efficiency on a daily basis.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in manufacturing operations, with leadership in factory/production roles.
• Strong knowledge of production planning, factory operations, manpower management and quality control.
• Experience in coir, textile, home furnishings, floor coverings, rubber products or other labour-intensive manufacturing industries will be preferred.
• Experience in an export-oriented manufacturing environment will be an added advantage.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage supervisors, workers and multiple production departments.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting and decision-making capabilities.
• Ability to work under production and shipment deadlines while maintaining quality standards.
• Working knowledge of Excel, production reporting and ERP/MIS systems.

Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee day-to-day factory and manufacturing operations.
• Plan production according to confirmed orders, priorities, capacity, and shipment schedules.
• Ensure daily, weekly, and monthly production targets are achieved.
• Monitor manpower allocation, attendance, productivity, overtime, and workforce utilization.
• Coordinate closely with Production, Printing, Quality, Packing, Maintenance, Stores, Procurement and Logistics teams.
• Ensure products meet required quality standards and customer specifications.
• Identify production bottlenecks and take corrective action to avoid delays.
• Monitor rejection, rework, wastage and material consumption; implement loss-reduction measures.
• Improve productivity, process efficiency and utilization of machinery and resources.
• Coordinate preventive maintenance and minimize production downtime.
• Maintain factory discipline, housekeeping, workplace safety and compliance.
• Monitor order progress and ensure production aligns with shipment dates.

• Implement SOPs, process controls and continuous improvement initiatives across departments.
• Prepare and review daily production reports, productivity reports, efficiency reports and other operational MIS.
• Train, guide and develop supervisors and production teams.
• Report factory performance, operational issues and improvement actions to management.

Candidate Profile

• 8+ years of experience in manufacturing operations, with relevant experience in a factory/production leadership position.
• Strong knowledge ofproduction planning, factory operations, manpower management and quality control.
• Experience incoir, textile, home furnishings, floor coverings, rubber products or other labour-intensive manufacturing industrieswill be preferred.
