Job summary

ROCKWOOL International A/S is seeking a Factory Controller for the Cheyyar factory in India. The role partners with management to prepare budgets, analyze variances, and report costings data to support informed decision making for operations.

The incumbent will work with production, maintenance, quality, environment, purchasing, logistics, and group reporting to standardize processes, benchmark performance, and drive cost efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of SAP and PS, ability to run independent role in factory controlling.
  • Experience with month-end close in SAP and cost reporting for operations.
  • Familiarity with BOM maintenance, SKU costing, and material structure management.
  • Reporting of KPI data including sustainability metrics (SKF) and cost savings initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Weekly, monthly and quarterly VPC follow up.
  • Monthly and quarterly cost savings and action plan follow up.
  • Budgeting and forecasting for factory operations, capex and opex.
  • Investments controlling and reporting per group requirements.
  • BOM model updating and maintenance; SKUs aligned with cost measures.

Job Purpose & Scope

The role of the Factory Controller is to be trusted partner for the management team of the Factory operations department. The role involves in preparation and followup of budgets and its variances and reporting costings data for the operations and concerned management information to provide the best basis for decision making to the management team.

Key Result Areas

The Factory Controller has an important impact on the organization, in that all related management decisions on the operations level should be supported by the Factory Controller. It is a specialist role, and there are no subordinates to the Factory Controller. The Factory Controller will be coordinating with different stakeholders, primarily the different operations departments (production, maintenance, quality, environment, purchasing, logistics, and warehouse) and respective group reporting controller in charge. The geographical coverage for this role is the factory in Cheyyar only, and will work towards best-practice sharing and benchmarking

Key Responsibilities & Job Content
  • VPC – the Factory Controller is responsible to provide management with an accurate view of the variable production costs in the factory
  • PKF – the Factory Controller is responsible to ensure that the PKF (Process Key Figures) are accurate and is responsible for monitoring and follow up on the effectiveness of the operations, the quality, environmental issues. The Factory Controller is responsible to point out areas where potential costs reductions can be achieved to the management.
  • Cost savings – the Factory Controller is responsible to provide a detailed follow up for the management on VPC and LES related costs savings, investment related cost savings
  • Investments – the Factory Controller is responsible for making sure that the investments are done according to the Rockwool group principles, including helping compile the required information, and reporting it accordingly
  • Costing/BOM – the Factory Controller is responsible for maintaining an accurate BOM (Bill of Material), and helping the operations department
  • eNA – the Factory Controller is responsible for creating SKUs based on the inputs from production and sales and keeping upto SKUs with respect to cost and measures
  • Variance analysis – the Factory Controller is responsible reporting monthly variance actual vs budget vs TYCE for VPC, PKF, cost saving.
  • Ad-hoc tasks – ad-hoc tasks should take up 20-30% of the Factory Controllers time – these should include all ad-hoc projects requested by operations, as well as own initiatives to increase efficiency, or reduce costs.
  • Standardization and benchmarking – the Factory Controller is responsible for pro-actively benchmarking across OPCOs, and working closely together with the operations department to achieve "best in class" performance. Furthermore, the controller should actively participate in improving the control environment in Rockwool Asia.
  • Group reporting – the Factory controller should reports to Group for various information in the standard format and within strict timeline
  • Budgeting and forecasting – the Factory controller should able to forecast and budget for the Factory operations, capex and opex.
