Role Objective

To lead the comprehensive team of high-tech SMT manufacturing infrastructure. This role ensures 100% operational uptime through superior maintenance of critical utilities, rigorous safety compliance, and the strategic scaling of plant facilities.

Key Responsibilities

1. Core Facility & Utility Management
   • Preventive Maintenance: Perform preventive maintenance of electrical and HVAC assets (including AHUs and Cleanroom chillers) strictly as per OEM guidelines and internal checklists.
   • Infrastructure Reliability: Inspect, clean, lubricate, and tighten mechanical and electrical components regularly to ensure smooth operation and prevent unexpected production stoppages.
   • Asset Life-Cycle: Replace defective or worn-out parts such as filters, bearings, belts, and gaskets on time to maintain peak equipment efficiency.
   • Utility Performance: Monitor equipment performance, identify abnormalities (vibrations, heat, noise), and report issues for timely corrective action before they impact the SMT line.
2. Operational Excellence & Monitoring
   • Parameter Tracking: Maintain meticulous records of operational parameters for critical assets, including DG sets, Chillers, AHUs, and HT/LT panels, Industrial Air Compressors (Pneumatics)* and Nitrogen Generation Plant.
   • Industry 4.0 Integration: Implement smart monitoring systems (IoT) for real-time tracking of humidity, temperature, and ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) levels, aligning with Chipmates digitalization goals.
   • Energy Efficiency: Drive energy conservation projects to lower the facility’s carbon footprint and operational costs, a key priority for our high-volume operations.
3. Safety, Compliance & Risk Management
   • Safety Protocols: Ensure 100% adherence to critical safety practices, specifically LOTO (Lockout-Tagout) and the mandatory use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) during all maintenance activities.
   • Regulatory Compliance: Manage compliance with environmental protection laws, building codes, and fire safety regulations.
   • ESD Protection: Oversee the maintenance of specialized ESD-safe flooring and grounding systems essential for semiconductor PCBA assembly.
4. Strategic Scaling & Project Management
   • Facility Expansion: Lead ‘Greenfield’ setup and modular facility layouts to support rapid capacity additions, supporting the massive growth trajectory of Chipmates.
   • Vendor Management: Manage multi-vendor contracts for facility services (security, canteen, waste management) while maintaining the facility budget and P&L.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Education: B.E./B.Tech in Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering.
• Experience: 12–15+ years in facility management, with at least 5 years as a Facility Head in a high-speed SMT or semiconductor factory environment. Worked on setting up of Green Field SMT Line facility (Class 7 Cleanroom standard) having experience in EMS Certification and compliance.
• Technical Proficiency: Deep understanding of Cleanroom standards (ISO 14644), high-tension (HT) power systems, and specialized HVAC for electronics.
• Certifications: Certified Facility Manager (CFM) or safety certifications (NEBOSH/OSHA) are a significant advantage.

• Mean Time between Failures (MTBF): Maximizing the reliability of plant utilities.
• Preventive Maintenance Compliance: 100% adherence to the maintenance schedule for critical assets.
• Energy Intensity: Reduction in power/utility cost per unit produced.
• Audit Readiness: Successful completion of IATF 16949 and ISO 13485 customer and regulatory audits.
• Government Relation: Compliance related to Environment regulations.
