Job summary

Digital Edge Data Center in Mumbai, India, seeks an experienced Data Center Facilities Operations Manager to lead DC facilities teams and optimize uptime, PUE and maintenance practices. This role reports to the VP Infrastructure Operations and BOM2 Operations Manager, based in Mumbai.

You will manage electrical, cooling, fire protection and BMS, coordinate with vendors, mentor staff and ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards while supporting large-scale customer and hyperscale

Qualifications

• Over 12 years of experience in Data Center operations and facilities management.
• Facility management certifications such as CDCP/CDCS or equivalent.
• Strong communication skills with internal and external stakeholders.
• Proven project management, troubleshooting and organizational abilities.

Responsibilities

• Ensure maintenance procedures for electrical, cooling, fire protection and BMS infrastructure follow policy, standards and customer specifications.
• Perform risk assessments and create method statements for critical infra maintenance or upgrades.
• Oversee maintenance contractors and service providers to support DC facilities operations and projects.
• Provide 3rd level on-call emergency response to maintain high availability and energy efficiency.
• Maintain vendor relationships for service support and competitive pricing for maintenance and upgrades.
• Lead training and mentoring for Facilities Operations team to ensure knowledge refresh and quality results.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, information security, environmental, incident management and regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate certifications such as ISMS, ISO 27001, 14001 and 45001, PCI DSS with HQ guidance.
• Support Sales and Product teams for potential hyperscale deals.

What we need:

Reporting to Vice President (Infrastructure Operations) and dotted to BOM2 Operations Manager, this role

is to manage the Data Center Facilities Operations teams to ensure the most efficient utilization of the Data

Center facilities resources, lowest possible operating PUE, consistent maintenance practices and service

uptime of the data centers. This role will be based in Mumbai, India.

Key responsibilities:

• Ensure consistency in the maintenance procedures of the DC Critical Electrical, Cooling, Fire Protection & Building Management System (BMS) infrastructure per DE maintenance policy or manufacturers ’ recommendation and customer specifications (if required).
• Perform Risk Assessment and develop appropriate method statements for critical infrastructure maintenance or infrastructure upgrade / replacement activities
• Ensures services and activities of maintenance contractors and service providers as appropriate to DC facilities operations, maintenance, design and construction services in support of corporate and customer objectives (if required).
• 3rd Level On-call emergency response & support as necessary to maintain the highest level of operations and availability to building systems, Electrical infrastructure efficiency & lowest possible operating PUE (through energy improvement program)
• Maintain appropriate vendor relationships to obtain the required service support and competitive price for maintenance, repair & new installations.
• Implement training & mentoring practices for Facilities Operations team members to ensure knowledge refresh, skills upgrade and quality results.
• Ensure compliance of policies and procedures for occupational health & safety in the workplace, information security management, environmental management systems; incident management; and comply with all legal regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate and support for the existing and new initiative certifications such as ISMS, ISO 27001, 14001 and 45001, PCI DSS, etc., development and implementation works for Digital Edge India, taking guidance from HQ
• Support Sales, Sales Engineering & Product Management team for key potential customer / Hyperscale deals.
• Actively champion and implement the organization’s policies on health & safety, environment, energy, quality, information security, and business continuity, ensuring adherence to incident reporting, legal, and regulatory requirements.

The successful candidate:

• More than 12 years of work experience in Data Center operations and Facilities management
• Extensive operational knowledge of electrical distribution (e.g. switchgear, transformers, automatic transfer switch, UPS, STS, Drups, battery management systems, generators, and PDUs to the branch level), cooling system, fire protection & Building Management system.
• Possess facility management and/or data centre related certifications, such as CDCP, CDCS or equivalent
• Effective communication skills with the ability to successfully interact with both internal and external customers
• Strong project management, trouble-shooting and organizational skills.
• Experience in telecommunications / digital infrastructure sectors, especially on the process side, is beneficial
• A team player willing to be hands-on in a dynamic and fast paced environment
