Job summary

Caterpillar Inc. is seeking a maintenance technician to perform upkeep of equipment, ensuring safety and performance standards are met. This onsite role requires proactive problem solving, diligent maintenance, and adherence to TPM-style practices to sustain high equipment reliability.

The candidate will engage in routine inspections, troubleshoot issues, and manage maintenance records with CMMS. Relocation is available, and visa sponsorship is not provided.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of 5S housekeeping concepts and sustaining standardized workplace operations.
  • Ability to apply disciplined problem-solving approaches to operational issues.
  • Understanding of how to meet or exceed customer service expectations.
  • Knowledge of machinery and tools, including maintenance and repair.
  • Experience with troubleshooting hardware, software, and operational problems.
  • Strong communication skills for clear reporting and collaboration.
  • Familiarity with decision-making processes in a manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate major equipment issues to managers and support robust solutions to improve efficiency, yield and uptime.
  • Comply with safety, health and environmental guidelines and contribute to improving procedures during maintenance.
  • Inspect machinery to identify problems, troubleshoot, and perform preventive maintenance procedures.
  • Track work orders, spare parts, and maintenance consumables; manage preventive maintenance schedules using CMMS.

Role Definition

Performs maintenance of equipment while ensuring safety and performance standards.

Responsibilities
  • Communicating major issues in equipment performance and maintenance to the managers; Supporting the team in implementing robust solutions to improve overall efficiency, yield, and uptime of the equipment.
  • Complying with safety, health, and environmental guidelines and participating in continuous improvement of the procedures while performing equipment maintenance.
  • Inspecting machinery and equipment to identify problems and potential solutions, and performing appropriate troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance procedures.
  • Tracking work orders, spare parts, and maintenance parts consumption, and scheduled preventive maintenance procedures using Computerized Maintenance Management System.
Skill Descriptors

5S Housekeeping: Knowledge of 5S Housekeeping concepts; ability to design, implement and sustain 5S housekeeping strategies to ensure standardization of workplace operations.

Level Basic Understanding
  • Explains the rationale for using the 5S methodology to organize a manufacturing workspace.
  • Describes the five foundational concepts of the methodology: seiri, seiton, seiso, seiketsu, and shitsuke.
